  • She can touch water! It was a rumour that was started by the people of oz. She just uses it as an escape, it doesn't actually do anything to her (:

  • i do have one question, if anyone can answer it... why can't elphaba touch water, other than she will melt. what makes it that way, is what i am asking.

  • im not so sure why she cant tuch water i think its a sidafect when your green but good question.

  • Stop making these STUPID slideshow video's to music using freaking windows movie maker. Youtube is for VIDEO'S not slideshows.

  • you DO NOT have to watch them..

  • trust me, a lot of us don't want to. but it would save a lot of time if you would post it as stating that it was a slideshow. because i was looking for something else.

  • @tabethastan really? There's is nothing wrong with making slide shows and putting them on youtube. If you dont like watching slideshows then what's the point of you making a bad comment and watching slideshows. Just dont watch slideshows and just watch videos simple as that...not trying to start anything im just stating my opinon...

  • @tabethastan i agree

  • What's with the big hat at 2:O3. I've seen wicked three times and i haven't the big hat before.

  • It was in the original production but eventually got cut. Most of the Ensemble would come out of it at the beginning of NOMTW and it would minimize and disappear.

  • cant wait to see this when it comes to my work! yay the doh :-)

  • why is there a giant witches hat in one of the no morns the wicked

  • They used to have it in the production at the beginning of No one mourns the wicked. They got rid of it after a while because it was a big hassle...

  • Thanks for the info. I was about to bitch you OUT!

  • haha your welcome

  • the music you picked sucks.

  • maybe if you read my info for my video, you would see that i didnt want this music.

  • Not cheno

  • At 0:20 who is Glinda. It's probably Cheno, but from this angle she looks a bit different

  • I believe that's Megan Hilty. It could also be Jennifer Laura Thompson... it could even be Kendra Kassebaum, but I'm positive it's Megan Hilty. =3

  • i think its Megan Hilty.

  • im pretty ssure thats not cheno

  • o ya i know what u mean. city of emeralds? yep. totally!

  • wickids cool

  • i havent seen the play, but i read the book...

is the lady in the wheel chair in the pictures supposed to be nessarose? cause... cause she had no arms O.o

  • yeah its nessa

    omg wow seriously?

ive been planning to read the book but i want to read it when i will understand it more

  • the book is great

i cant see the wizard of oz now without

pointing how much they got wrong and how not evil elphaba was :P

  • o they did at mine!

  • Yeahh they made her handicapped in a wheelchair bcuz...they liked the idea of a wheelchair better! xD

  • Armless actresses are in short supply, apparently.

  • hah lmao

  • i no - shes only ment to be armless but they had to make her wheelchair booooound!! Thw books really hard to read but its really good and they left out so many good parts of it!! :O :) xx

  • hahaha

    probably

dont forget they have to sing too :P

  • the play has basically NOTHING from the book. trust me, don't read the book if you love the play.

  • really? i want to read the book and see the play sometime, thanks for the warning

  • um from what ive read in the book and clips ive seen from youtube its still got referances to the book

  • you have no idea how different they are... first off in the book there isn't a ball. And the play ended with a happy ending unlike the book.

  • It wasn't happy, persay, it was more of a bittersweet ending. The whole musical was about the friendship between Glinda and Elphaba. Yes, Elphaba ended up with Fiyero, and yes, she was able to go free secretly, but Glinda was left believing that her best friend was dead, and Elphaba couldn't tell her that she was alive. They'll never see each other again. That certainly sounds sad to me..

  • i suppose.

    do you like Megan Hilty?

i'm not really a fan of hers no affence.

  • Are you reffering to my user name? Lol, if you are, there's no reference to Megan Hilty. My name is actually Megan, and my middle name starts with an 'H' and my last name starts with a 'T'.

I do like Megan Hilty, though; I love every cast member, because they each bring their own unique things to the characters. Cheno, JLT, and Kendra are by far my favorite Glinda's, though. <3

  • oh lol i see.

    thats pretty cool though.

i like Dee Roscioli, Erin Mackey, Indina, Shoshana Bean, Shouna White and of course Cheno. those are Elphies and Glinda

  • Very good. better than anything I could do. lol.

  • thank you =]

  • i thought george hearn was the wizard

  • yeah he was one of them

  • i wish they still had that huge witch hat in the show

  • Loved the book. Would love to see the musical. I did some vids an re-told the story as well, check it from my vids.

  • cool

i heard the book is COMPLETELY different though. ive been meaning to read it.

i heard the book is very very dark.

  • The book was good, but there were some real perverted parts in it. Really weird-pervy.

  • It is increadibly dark. But I liked it. You probably shouldn't read it if you're not into alot of sex, though. It really surprised me how perverted some of it was.

  • really?

hm i've been planning to read it but i dont want it to completely change the way i think about the play.

  • That was my concern, too, but eventually, you learn to love both stories for what they are. They're both different, and while the book is darker, they both have their own little quirks that make it amazing. Elphaba is much more sarcastic and cynical in the story, so some of things she says as a student at Shiz are just hilarious. I love the book because you get to know Elphaba better, but then I love the musical, because the friendship between the girls is sooo amazing. Nothing can match it. <3

  • it is i just finished it.

  • Its not that perverted...just in the begining and a short scene at a club...but thats about the most detailed parts. It's called an adult novel for a reason.

  • yeah i know,

  • it is...seriously.

  • haha well i'll still read it sometime.

  • i'am seeing it on Tueseday!!!!

i might be in the front row!!!

    aaaaah!

  • Where are you seeing it at?

  • wow thats amazing.

the first time i saw it, it was in the... 6th row i think

  • I was in orchestra, about eight rows back I think. I saw it in NY. Where are you seeing it?

  • i live in chicago so ive seen it here.

  • i'm SO JEALOUS!

  • im going to see it in chicago!

i just need the money for the tickets T.T

  • this show totally rocked i loved the part when she flies at the end of the play ...awesome and if u havent seen i recomend it

  • you mean the first part before the intermission, right? defying gravity?

    yes thats amazing

  • strange!!!!!!!

    wired!!!!!

  • what is strange and wired?

  • i loooove the song popular in this show.

  • me too!!!

  • not even close to one of the best songs but i still love it because i love them all

  • its so good you got to see it its the bomb^_^

  • yay! this is really good

  • thank you! =]

  • I want to see this so badly

  • its totally worth the money

  • I saw this musical in London. It was AMAZING!! The slide show is just great too :D

Is this the London Cast by any chance?

  • i got to see this play at the start of summer

  • its amazing isnt it?

  • miamh720 - When did you write the musical?

  • what do you mean by "when did i write the mucical?"? sorry. confused about the question.

  • miamh - I was just wondering when you wrote it?

  • she didn't write the musical. she's just showing us pictures FROM the musical, that's all. =]

  • kittenstorms - Who wrote it then? Are you telling me that it just appeared out of a thick air?

  • it didn't appear out of a thick air, no.

Gregory Maguire wrote the original novel "Wicked" for which the musical is based on.

The musical itself, however, was produced by Universal Pictures with Winnie Holzman who wrote the screenplay book and Stephen Schwartz who wrote the music and lyrics.

  • kittenstorms - Who is Gregory Maguire? He sounds like a most talented sort.

  • Gregory Maguire wrote the book "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West".

This is the book that the musical "Wicked" is based on.

  • kitten - When did he perform these actionings?

  • Gregory Maguire didn't perform in the show of WICKED, he just wrote the original story from which the musical was based. He wrote a book about Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, and because people loved his book so much, they decided to turn it into a Broadway Musical. The show opened on Broadway October 31st 2003, and it started being made in 2000, I believe.

    I hope that helps. =3

  • Since when did the Wicked Witch of the West have a name?

  • Gregory Maguire created the name for her. He took the name of the author of the 'Wonderful Wizard of Oz', L. Frank Baum, who created the Wicked Witch of the West, and he used his initials, 'L.F.B.' to make them into 'El-pha-ba'. Elphaba. The idea is, she always had this name throughout the story of the Wizard of Oz, but we never knew it because we never really knew the Wicked Witch of the West. Thanks to this musical, and the book, we now know who she is and her side of the story. =3

  • OK thanks for the info! :)

  • yeah i learned that a while ago and i thought it was amazing how he came up with the name.

  • where hav u been? her name is elphaba thropp and she isnt evil

  • Yes, but with her being fictional and all I wasn't really up to date on her recent 'biography'?

  • Stephen Schwartz = genius

    <3

  • yes thank you

  • no problem. =]

  • love the slide show!!! not big fan of the music. I love Wicked too!! Its amazing!!! I'm seeing it in Boston this fall after I see Tarzan on bway this summer!!

  • thank you. yeah i wanted to put Wicked music along with the slideshow but i couldn't. it was stupid.

    yeah i've seen wicked twice.

  • Ohh sorry bout Tarzan, do you get to see it before it closes?

  • yeah i wanted to put Wicked music but it wasnt working.

  • so fantastec

  • thank you. i <3 Wicked! =]

  • please people need to stop putting these on peoples comments.

  • Wicked is love <3 so is Beethoven... =]

  • lol yeah thanks

  • lol yeah

  • Of course it wouldn't be the same - it never could be. But at least it would expand the experience for the rest of the world besides Broadway! And of course it would be made specifically for a TV/home audience; the staging, sound tech would be handled differently. They could even do it in big theaters for a "larger" experience.

  • yeah i guess

  • They should make DVD's of all Broadway shows so that, when the shows close, those of us who live far from Broadway can see them. It doesn't seem fair.

  • i dont know. that might ruin the experience. but i understand why you think there should be.

  • the costumes look really cool and so does the stage i really want to see the play now

  • you really should see it, hooly. its so awesome.

  • pretty good video

  • thank you =D
