I'm gonna take a wild guess here and say ved was sorta new to bass at the time and as such, had a lower quality bass, now at that satge, and with that bass, playing with an untrained pinky requires alot of pressure on the top joint, i play bass and used to have that problem..

it aint spot on man, and to be honest not reading tabs shouldnt be an excuse because really your either right or wrong as far as a note is concerned and you should be able to differenciate, but its not too far off man keep at it!, its the chorus's that are wrong and the middle 8th bit is pretty off.
