What you at 19 yrs old fail to understand, is that 2012 is not the end of the world. It is the end of the world as we know it. Things will change. Possibly for the better, possibly for the worse. Either way, the change will occur. It will be physical, spiritual, metaphysical, metaspiritual, philosophical and emotional.
While you are entitled to your opinion, I do not share it as I know better and have more information on the subject than you do. Don't dispair.

The Mayans did not simply stop making the calendar, they thought that that would be the end of this cycle(I think it is the fourth, though I'm probably wrong). They believed that at the end, it would be apocalypse. It wasn't us who thought of the apocalypse aspect, it was them.
I was talking specifically about the 2012, Mayan calendar scenario. Sorry if I didn't make that clear. It is funny how so many cultures have extinction scenarios. We are such a fucked up species.
