This song is great. I think my band is gonna cover it we already do Soldier of Love. But Arthur Alexander is great I dicovered him through the Beatles!
My love 4 the Beatles Anna led me to discover Mr. Alexander. Can't believe that he didn't hit it big. Sort of like Townes Van Zant (country) or the ethereal Nick Drake (You could label him British Folk Rock, but truly his music is in a world of his own), he seems to be inexplicitely known to a relative few. Maybe he wrote most of these songs. Well, I've got 2 run off and check out the rest of his music. Glad that he his is at least in the Alabama Music Hall of
Arthur is one of the greatest Soul Singers that actually never had major success. Too bad he didn't have too much knowledge of the business side of things otherwise he would've been much bigger. This is indeed one of my favourites, together with Soldier of Love, Where have you been and of course Anna, which was also covered by the Beatles. Thank you for posting this. Been a while since I've heard this one. Must look it up as I know I have it on vinyl somewhere. Thanks again.
