  • lol awesome.. too bad the sync issue

  • beyond orgasmic ..

  • This "presto" is a little slow...

  • @TheLearningFish Most of the versions I can find on itunes are even slower than this one is, which is a great pity.

  • Baroque 'n' roll motherflippers

  • People who disliked it thought it was called "dis i like"

  • nowadays people are transforming famous classical pieces into techno masterpieces. I mean its not bad (its very good stuff!) but classical does truly speak to the heart

classical isn't dieing. Its more transforming than anything

  • how can anyone dislike this?

  • splendid playing...very emotionally gratifying : )

  • splendid playing...very emotionally gratifying : )

  • holy shit harry potter 20 years after XD playing summer :O

  • 2:45 dat face

  • this song is hard as heck gahhhhh

    but this is great!

  • the guy broke a bow hair at 0:56

  • awesome, my friend brought it into class and i nearly cried(exageration)

  • forget superman and batman the red priest is my superhero

  • @whatsgoingonthen join the club :)

  • I have a question, isn't this song in some parts very similar to the devil trill??

It doen't sound in some partes to vivaldi's songs.

  • good job..amazing music..

  • min 1 :(

  • Gidon Kremer is an amazing musician, this is not discussed. But he understands the Four Seasons in excess of will, too fast, too hard, a lot of sweat and feeling little. It's what I see. I repeat, he's great, but do not compare, just for instance, with the versions of Mutter/Karajan, or Itzhak Perlman or even the popular I Musici records.

  • The hairs on his bow are snapping off!

  • amazing

  • 2:42

    :D

  • Every time I watch this, I can't help but think about how badass that harpsicord is... and how amazingly epic that violinist's hair is.

  • 2:46 ...

  • pause at 2:44

  • the red priest of venice(as vivaldi) was known due to his red hair was a bloody genius just listen to this

  • Adore it, simply adore it :)

  • how people can dislike it?

  • i did a ballet dance to this song:)

  • omg, they are great !

  • this isn't classical.... it's baroque..!

  • @n1ckynoodle YES! I actually don't like the music of the classical period, I like baroque and then jump to the romantic... the evolution in between however... not a fan.

  • @Rodier1128 Unless its Beethoven. Technically speaking, he was a major part of both the Classical AND Romantic periods.

  • @ReaperOfMen It sounds so bad of me, but I haven't listened to a whole lot of 'classical' music. I'm trying to dive into the genre more and found this piece as a prime example of baroque literature X___x

  • @Rodier1128 I understand. Its not exactly that the classical period was "bad," but there was little creative freedom so a lot of it sounds a lot alike. And everything had to be simple, so while the melodies were catchy or easy to remember, but did little to interest you much further. I agree though, that I'd listen to baroque or romantic era pieces long before classical period stuff.

  • @n1ckynoodle And these neanderthals call themselves mentlegen?! What an outrage!

  • @n1ckynoodle LOL..you are right! But unfortunately, to most people "Classical" is a genre that encompasses everything from Renaissance to 20th Century --rather than a time period these days. Thanks for the correction though. :O)

  • @n1ckynoodle It is still "classical"; it's just not "Classical" (from the Classic Period). Same goes for Romantic classical music.

  • Tone sounds so 'woody'...organic

  • @visiting31 very.. baroque... as it should be!

  • Have you seen the smile of Kremer at the very end? It's artistic plasure for sure!

  • Ha ha, from a distance this looks like a whole room of people jerking off!

  • @TheFranticPedantic how immature can you be

  • @TSaxDiva09 Very.

  • holly shit. I watch it twice on day.

  • where can i find the sheet music for this

  • I am definately devoted to classical and baroque works but that doesnt stop me from listening to different musics such as Britney Spears. I am really annoyed with all the people who say that "Classical music is for smart people." because that is wrong. Classical music is just another genre of music and it should not be treated as divine over other genres.

  • @xWoodnStrings you couldn't be more wrong

  • @xWoodnStrings

Wrong wrong and wrong. Putting alongside britney Spears and, for example, Vivaldi´s compositions is like comparing a picture taken with my coolpix to my friends while drunk and wasted and Rembrant´s nightwatch...

  • guitardude...society has become stupid trash..thats why

  • ROCK DAT VIOLIN UZA BAD MOFO ROTFL

  • How I love Vivaldi!!! the red priest :)

  • Qué fuerza!!!

  • godlike

  • Sounds a bit out of tune at 1:39

  • @ royalsteven Dunno if it counts, but Trans-Siberian Orchestra is a step in that direction. Not really sure you could call them a proper orchestra though...

A major problem with classical music is that it sounds flat and dead unless heard live. Did you know, classical music is considered one of the more strenuous tests of speaker systems? It tends to come out fuzzed/distorted from its original sound. Pop music, on the other hand, comes out crisp and clear.

  • One of the best pieces for me. Especially 1.10 I love that part. They sometimes say Trance is the new classical or metal. Although the similarities are there both don't come even close to the classical masters. And try playing this on violin or other classic instruments, it takes years of practice. These guys look like nerds but can play. I would also like to see an orchestra with guitars playing. That would be cool.

  • I am from the chinese orchestra. I love the harmony

  • I can't imagine summer here. I can imagine an 18th century girl who is obsessed in writing

  • amazing!

  • my favorite season of Vivaldi. Amazing!

  • Wonderful music..!!!

  • that's not the music...

this is the one of the best ways of humankind's treatment ever)

  • This is baroque not classical

  • gidon kremer plays like slash with his guitar but instead it a violin awesome! :)

  • genius...

  • could anyone tell me the name of the song which is a classical's recover (violin) and similar to its speed and somewhere to its tone?

  • could anyone tell me the name of the song which is a classical's recover (violin) and similar to its speed and somewhere to its tone? there are slowly and speed parts in it, and an exotic woman vocal: 'lalalalalala-lalalalalala'

  • wow! vivaldi rocks!

  • summer!!!!! fantastic!

  • Audiogasm at the very end!

  • try to look 0:30! it looks like he was checking his bow if there something wrong.

  • Hi, again. One request, if I may - please.

I've been searching on YouTube for the best interpretation of Vivaldi's Summer III and decided that this one is my favorite.

I'd really like to get its version at very high quality sound - and no background noise.

Could you please be kind enough and let me know how and where I can get that? I'd really appreciate it.

    Thank you. My regards.

  • Comment removed

  • @AristocraticBoy hahaha mae's storm is actually a cover of vivaldi's 3rd summer song from 4 seasons (which is sometimes called 'thunderstorm'). look it up.

  • This is a masterpiece.

There are a few passages that I think aren't good enough for the rest of the song, but I can live with them and simply love the whole.

Therefore, my bottom line is that this song is a masterpiece. It gives me shivers from head to toe and backwards.

  • I put that name in Ares to download this song?

  • his bow-so poor crash by speed :( :(

  • i will never have as a satisfied face as the violinist standing at the end of the video

  • the sound is not sincronized with the video =/

  • Excellent!

  • I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That guy is so dope. lol

  • incredible

  • I just jizzed in my pants :(

  • Sir Vivaldi's Four Seasons is the best! I love Spring - First and Summer - Presto. I saw Gidon Kremer's interpretation of Spring and it's also fantastic just like his interpretation of Summer - Presto. I always listen to classical music 'coz it soothes my mind, relieves my stress and best of all, I simply love it.

  • @theothercanadian or hes just playing really fast and its getting ripped out

  • Amazing!

  • this makes me wanna learn how to play violin... it sounds so nice! words are just not enough!

  • do it! playing violin definately made my life better.

  • the soloist is playing so hard that his bow is losing horse hair

  • that's called passion

  • i know, i play the violin. im pretty sure my comment was misinterpreted

  • woa, is so great

  • vivaldi is the best

  • Hm...I can't say it's my favorite Kremer, but it's definitely a good performance.

  • amazzzzinnng!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • An excellent video of Vivaldi's music! TY!

  • There's just nothing like a good performance of Vivaldi! No words in any language can adequately describe its sheer beauty!

  • This is a.Vivaldi. Mr. Gidon play very light in his bow and for that sound go to long. Brave.

  • u know what i dont get.. how great music like this is completely underappreciated and gets 73,865 views.. and shitty songs like girlfriend by avril lavigne gets over 100 million. justt doesnt seem right..

  • touche...true that my friend, true that.

  • classical music is for smart people. the masses can't listen to music without words because they have short attention spans. :)

  • This used to be the only music around ages ago, everyone listened to this back then. Are you implying people back then where smarter than now?

  • LoL dude, that's your inference. Not mine.

  • @universal23livenl by somehow yes...

  • Haha, that's funny that you say that. I look at the band kids compared to us, they're....less sophisticated... it's sad how all people listen to now is rap.

  • hey! I personally prefer classical music, as well as some rock and such, anything but rap pretty much...and Band Kids? I am part of a "Garage Band" and all we play is basically this hahaha.

  • no, not garage band people lol, i think they're cool.. toushe on starting one!! its tough to do....im talking bout the band as in tuba, trombone, clarient, etc. But that just may be the fact that our strings teacher acctaully makes us commit to the instrument whereas in band class, you dont need to fill out practice recordsto get a good grade. Maybe there's just less self-discipline.....another thing required to learn how to play an instrument.

  • @ImSoCoolItBurns You're saying band kids are less sophisticated as opposed to strings because they don't have to fill out a practice chart? Sir, I believe your logic is flawed. And by no means is there less self-discipline, one of my close friends plays violin and it takes equal amounts of practice and work for myself to learn trumpet.

  • okay..look I'm a miss first of all. Second of all, I'm talking about people at my school, and everyone is not alike.. And i dont think you're someone from my school. With all due respect it wasn't directed at you..or your friend. I'm talkin bout my school. Obviously..people are gettin mad about what I said sooo lets just drop this okay? I apologize if i offended you.

  • @ImSoCoolItBurns I'm sorry, I didn't know you were a female... i'll forget this ever happened if it makes you feel better :)

  • Thank you. Have a nice week!

  • @KoalaBearWarrior damn right i agree to 100% !

  • @KoalaBearWarrior Lmao, that's the most elitist thing I have heard in a while....

  • @thecollective10 then how come 24 people agreed with me lol.

  • @KoalaBearWarrior Simple, alot of ppl want to think they are better in the choices they make, in reagards to what music they like.

  • @KoalaBearWarrior you can see so many things in classical music. its an infinite sound world, a true MUSICAL language where tone and harmony are the lyrics, which actually speaks greater than words. your 100% correct its not only for smart ppl but musical ppl as well

  • @KoalaBearWarrior

HAHAHAHA this is the funniest shit ive heard in a week! Go Vivaldi Go Baroque GO Bach !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @KoalaBearWarrior Lol this isn't classical music!

  • @coz734 I am actually rather curious what you mean here!

  • @shockwave9000 Lol...this is actually baroque music...there is baroque, then classical then later on there is romantic music :)

  • @coz734 You are absolutely correct, sir. It's not classical. It's baroque. Baroque -1600–1760; Classical - 1730–1820; Romantic 1815–1910. However, In a lump, the masses considered nearly anything with a violin classical music. =)

  • @KoalaBearWarrior "short attention spans" - :)) Good one

  • @KoalaBearWarrior at least i feel great for myself im not part of that 'masses'...lol

  • @KoalaBearWarrior Attention span has little to do with the presence of lyrics or not.

  • @KoalaBearWarrior this is baroque actually

  • @KoalaBearWarrior There's also classical music with lyrics. It's called an aria.

  • @KoalaBearWarrior Classical music is for everybody. Pretentious people that say things like that make the average person think they can't appreciate it. In fact, it can be even easier than music with words because it can play with the imagination of the listener. We can also blame the fact that society doesn't provide a nurturing environment for creativity. Also, don't say things about the intelligence of people without using capital letters. It doesn't bode well.

  • @HDoyle05 So people who listen to lil john and jay z are smarter than people who listen to classical music? lol.

  • @KoalaBearWarrior I am not sure how your logic twisted my statement around. I said that classical music can be enjoyed by anybody but that a lot of people that don't listen to it make that choice because they think they wouldn't be able to get it. Classical music has more of an emotional response outwardly than intellectually. Intelligence can be found in any group of people and can be lacking in any group as well.

  • @HDoyle05 So you say that lil jon might be smarter than vivaldi? That's bullshit mate! lol.

  • @KoalaBearWarrior how da freak did u get dat statement from? HDoyle05 just said dat u hav 2 be intellectually engaging in classical music than dat lil jon and jay-z music. ur statement is bullshit mate! lol.

  • @moshekai2010 ENGLISH DO YOU SPEAK IT???

  • @KoalaBearWarrior if u don't understand wat da freak i am sayin, u don't need 2 make bullshit comments to complicate dis freaking situation...if u understand wat i'm sayin...back da freak off...if u don't...u da one dat doesn't understand English. bet u don't hav even a freaking school degree.

  • @guitardude1007 True True I know the feeling, in my personal opinion i dont like any of the music is playing right now out there in the world, now im 18 years old and my favorite genre is classical and all of its subs then rock and all of its subs again, bein my fav neoclassical rock and opera then psychedelictrance i dont like nothing that has to do with fashion nor trend music, cheers from mexico my mate

  • @guitardude1007 Fuck yeah girlfriend! Jks. Yeah completely agree with you.

  • @guitardude1007 - The main reason: This is the Interweb. ALSO: 52% of all YouTube users are West Coast Americans between the ages of 12 and 25

  • @guitardude1007 dont worry, we're a 100 thousand + now.. :D

  • @guitardude1007 Everyone can listen to classical but people have pigeon holed it for only the wealthy/intellectual & this alienates the masses. Classical speaks to the heart w/out words & everyone has a heart! These guys were the rock and roll of their eras. We just need to get the word out & break down stereotypes then maybe more people will have the joy of listening to Classical.

  • @kaeli356 yes, but rock and roll is not music

  • @sanmarcoandres I made the rock & roll comment as an example so that (most) people from our era could relate to how exciting & popular the classical composers/performers were in their time. My point was that classical music IS for everyone & not just the intellectuals/trained musicians of our time. Music is defined by each person within their cultural context. Each point of view is equally legitimate. Rock & roll may not be music to you but it is music to a large portion of the world.

  • @sanmarcoandres You, sir or ma'am, are supremely daft. If rock and roll isn't music, then Columbians aren't people.

  • @FfejTball Rock and roll isn´t music, Columbians aren't people and you are not a man.

  • @kaeli356 that is incorrect. no one has a heart. only in music may you develope a pure one of whichever alignment one chooses. Modern alcoholics state this is the rock n roll of back that but it was not, nor intended to be. It sounds militaristic and royal droning because its suppose to be just that. And that is what makes it so majestic. Only wealthy cold hearted intellectuals are allowed to appreciate. Real music is not for the masses as they do not deserve any light and glory.

  • @xollyeux Music is the flow of consciousness and everyone has consciousness. You can choose to look at the glass as half full or half empty. Man is made in the image of God. Light and glory belongs to everyone on the planet. All the best to you.

  • @kaeli356 \cudnt agree more wd u

  • @kaeli356 I agree, I think in some way that's what Vanessa Mae has tried to do

  • @barryframic actually my verry first cd was from vanessa mae :D thats been ever such a long time ago thou ;)

  • @guitardude1007 TOTALLY AGREE

  • @guitardude1007 i agree with you~

  • @guitardude1007

Because, as L7 said, "The masses are asses"

  • @guitardude1007 what if u like both? Not everyone will agree that one type of music is the best, or better than any other because it won't make sense. Please shut the fuck up and understand that you can't really decide if something's shitty or not. different music reaches different people, and avril lavigne or whoever is just viewed more because kids watch it. and these kids prefer it because it's fun and even have more access to it. seriously, don't be ignorant.

  • @JoshOhen92 lol i hate faggots like you who takes youtube srsly. my comment was MY opinion on how i feel about girlfriend. ur comment is completely contradicting. u say i cant decide whether something is shitty or not, and you say different ppl like different music.. ergo they have an opinion on whats shitty or not. U MAKE NO SENSE. someones completely entitled to say that classical music is boring. i can say avril lavigne is shitty. and if u look at the comments below.. most ppl agree with me.

  • @guitardude1007 well obviously they're gonna agree with you. one of the reasons they're even watching the vid is probably because they like it. if anything i don't take it seriously at all, but it seemed like u did, which is why i kinda lashed out a bit. and u don't need to explain what opinion means, i get that. what i don't think YOU get is why certain music is more popular. think it over and get why THAT makes more sense than some of ur opinion on music.

  • sublime....supreme

  • its actually baroque music.

  • Classic music = Quality...This video is the proof...

  • proof of what?

  • its proof that Classical music is good and meaningful and enjoyable.

  • :O a piano with black keys and white halfs... I havn't seen that one before!

  • It's a harpsichord

  • it's not a piano it's a harpsichord.

  • it's a harpsichord.

  • i like the tempo

  • Mr. Kremer and the Camerata Baltica are unique!

    Perfect and clear notes!

    This is fantastic!

    Regards

    Olly

  • there is a couple of wrong notes, where there isn't supposed to be a sharp and he played with sharp
