Gidon Kremer is an amazing musician, this is not discussed. But he understands the Four Seasons in excess of will, too fast, too hard, a lot of sweat and feeling little. It's what I see. I repeat, he's great, but do not compare, just for instance, with the versions of Mutter/Karajan, or Itzhak Perlman or even the popular I Musici records.

And everything had to be simple, so while the melodies were catchy or easy to remember, but did little to interest you much further. I agree though, that I'd listen to baroque or romantic era pieces long before classical period stuff.

A major problem with classical music is that it sounds flat and dead unless heard live. Did you know, classical music is considered one of the more strenuous tests of speaker systems? It tends to come out fuzzed/distorted from its original sound. Pop music, on the other hand, comes out crisp and clear.

One of the best pieces for me. Especially 1.10 I love that part. They sometimes say Trance is the new classical or metal. Although the similarities are there both don't come even close to the classical masters. And try playing this on violin or other classic instruments, it takes years of practice. These guys look like nerds but can play. I would also like to see an orchestra with guitars playing. That would be cool.
