The filmmakers of get him to the greek recorded lots of "concert 1999 " footage ,shamefully hardly any was used in the final edit of the film .

Well, it is confusing enough. Infant Sorrow is real enough to tour and release music, but they aren't actually a band in the sense of being a band. It's more like Russell Brand (Aldous Snow) is riding the skirts of a movie creation for the fun of it.
