But the LSJ motor is solid, but the LE5 the 2.4L Ecotec is one of my favorite motors since it already has forged pistons and some beefy rods and VVT-i yo
I was a sophomore in College when i did this ( i was 19 now i'm 23) but the entire thing was done for about $1500.
and the exhaust sound is open downpipe. It went Manifold --> Turbo --> Downpipe. And i was using an external wastegate (38mm Turbonetics Evolution Wastegate) so when that opened it would create a whole new world of noise lol

That's actually impressive. I never was fond of the Ions, I always prefer the first generation SCs, SLs and SWs. It's good to see someone go somewhere with an Ion.
I actually had a 97 SC2 after the ION but unfortunately the rear main seal broke and it was leaking oil everywhere. I got fed up wth the vehicle and sold it.
All I have to say is Honda sucks, plain and simple. Saturn had the record fro front wheel drive grags for a while. Saturn and Honda are in the same class. In fact the Saturn makes a couple of vehicles that put Honda to shame. Sky beats out S200 by far and a Aura beats out the Accord. I drive an 01' SC2 and when Honda did not even have the option of ABS or traction control Saturn did, for less. So in the end, Honda fans can eat $hit and bark at the moon.

Ah, difference is, the Red Line is supercharged which is not bad, but turbos are better anyways. I have a 2000 SC2, pretty much the sister car of the Ion.

Not my car, but yeah, he had someone make him a custom manifold/downpipe, bought the turbo, intercooler piping, intercooler, wastegate, blow off valve, fuel tuning / injectors, gauges, etc, online.

i'm the guy who made this turbo pos, and well if you dont' want to have to make your own parts for everything then get the tC, much easier when you have aftermarket support with the tC. But I wanted to learn about cars so i made this thing.

An SRT-4 is probably what you're looking for then. ;)
As much as I'd like to see more people driving Saturns, the redline isn't fast, isn't great on gas, and isn't that good of a car at all.
If you've got any automotive knowlege, a turbocharged low displacement car is the best solution for what you're looking for though.
