thats the zcam by 3dv systems which was recently bought by microsoft. the real technology this is natal was created by a company called primesense which is in partnership with microsoft. check out the primesesne video on youtube and project natal video, pretty much one in the same. or go to primesense website...there are more real facts there. about what they are realeasing as well as project natal with microsoft. research and learn and never assume what you don't know.

I've seen live demonstrations of Natal. The response time isn't true-to-life, so there is a distinct delay between player and avatar.

There's no concievable way to seamlessly incorporate actions in a complex gaming environment without the aid of some sort of controller. FPS, adventure, and sports games will be a disaster on this thing. Believe me, I won't be crying when all you XBOX owners have to send it back to the company for repairs. It's a good idea in theory, but so is communism.

Well, this is really existing, but it is not Project Natal of course. I had a sort of this program in the betá, it totally suck. In any light is impossible without depth sensors and a 3d cam. When i needed to play i had to scan my hands in the cam but it almost scanned my whole background, when I finally had it scanned it doesn't scan your full (small) movements. (PNatal is 3d and sensority, that is why you can turn round in FPS games, if there are FPS games coming for x360(with PNatal..)

It's petty impressive, but the gaming experience it will deliver is horrible. Seriously, nobody will sit there and hold his hands in the very same position for more than 2minutes. For real games, it's a physical/mental problem. Holding still and not moving around is contrary to the human body-language. Moreover, you can see that the input is not very precise. The last problem I see involves the possible commands: Shooting seems ok, but if you want to move, shift of jump the movement will be odd.

We are all used to the deveices we have now and it will be difficult/impossible to change that. That's why we still use the keyboard. And the other thing is, it's good to have something in hand. It simply feels more authentic. To sum it up, it will only be good for the full body movement detection. The demo that was shown with the girl doing her workout is the direction I would pursue. It can be nice for Party Games and workout stuff, but that's about it. Everything else will be an epic fail...
