The Quiet Earth is one of the most underrated SciFi films ever made it dosen't get mentioned often in the best of science fiction. Thanks for posted it......
does any1 know a film i thought was called lifepod? its about a couple of people strandes in a lifepod in space and 1 man is blind but he aint really blind? would love to know what that was called again.
My favorite SCI-FI: Alien series (#1), Star Wars (only old school),Jurassic Park series,The Fifth Element, X-Men, Robocop 1-2, Terminator 1-2, Minority Report, Stalker, Solyaris (1972), Moonraker, 2001:Space Odyssey, Total Recall, Signs, Equilibrium, Contact,Metropolis,Avatar
Underrated SCI-FI I love: Mimic, Serenity, Demolition Man , Lawnmover Man,Strange Days, Ultraviolet, Mission To Mars, The Arrival, The Shadow, FutureSport, DeepStarSix, The Cell, Them, Judge Dredd,Johnny Mnemonic, Congo
You're right. But I think it may receive this category as its based on a graphic novel that's read by a lot of science fiction fans. Of course your mileage vary n opinion.
I loved Alien...even on another planet, the British do that thing about dormant/dead things in crashed or buried space ships that slowly return to life and use human bodies as their means to survival...also popularised by Dr.Who and Quatermass.
Probably owes a lot to H G Wells and Mary Shelley, now I think about it!
Yep the British do a great job indeed. Have been a huge fan of Dr Who for years. Highly recommend the 'Big Finish' Dr Who radio dramas. As good as the show! Especially good if your a fan of the older series, they use voice talent from of older incarnation's of the Dr :) Another fine, but B grade flick along these lines is: 'Mutant - a.k.a Forbidden World 1982. Alien ripoff but hammy fun. I've watched some of Damon Dark a while back, not half bad. Thats filmed in Geelong, Right? ;) -
Yeah, I make Damon Dark in Geelong, some parts were done in Melbourne, but mainly Geelong. My most recent film has a lot of location shooting near the You Yangs, near Lara and Little River! :)

Good choice of music... even if you hate the prequels, it certainly wasn't Williams' fault
