He was the leader who had the wisdom to be secular! He protected the Christians' rights from gangsters! After all, Jesus did say to spread the word with "your mouth" & not with the bloody sword! He was the architect of a great building program for Egypt; ports, bridges, roads, schools, hospitals! WE SALUTE YOU NASSER! WE KNOW YOU ARE IN HEAVEN COMRADE! @gamimenaki Im sorry, everything that is wrong the Egypt right now is partially related to what Abdel Nasser did. The Land reformation was a decision he took without thinkng of the future. The poor then, had money to eat and drink, and there was control over how many children they have by the people they work for. just like now a days having a driver and a servant married and living under your roof, its youre rules. But then those farmers, suddenly became rich and theyre not educated

If a leader confiscates freedom of speech, he is an enemy of the people, no matter what. Unfortunately, many, may be the majority of Arabs, think of themselves as sheep to be led by a shephered. The government has to provide for them shelter and grass.
Nasser was a dictator, but it is the fault of the people who allowed him to be.

I agree with you Sabry. Abdel Nasser did nothing but to expand stupid Arabism (a.k.a. islamic fascism). He completely destroyed our Egyptian culture and heritage; caused chaos and started unnecessary wars. I kind of wish that we were still living under a monarchy even if it was of Turkish decent. At least we had culture and life back then. All we have now is fundamentalism and garbage.

It must obviously have escaped your notice that Egypt has today, as it has always had, the strongest and most vibrant culture in the entire region, partly because of Nasser's propagation of pride in 6000 years of Egyptian heritage.
