  • I tried growling while playing drums. Fucking impossible

  • that's no not what i said

i just informed you that is is very hard to sing while playing drums!!!

  • Honestly, I don't see the problem with his singing. The part he sang fit the song nicely. His singing isn't good but it doesn't warrant nearly half the hate it's received.

  • The man should

    1. Never sing

    2. Never direct or edit videos

    3. Never stop drumming

  • @petas874 have you ever tried to growl while you play the drums?

  • @12jonaskor No, and neither should Portnoy. He sucks at it in the studio, so why would he be able to do it any better while playing drums?

  • @petas874 4. Never leave Dream Theater

  • I wish Portnoy had stopped singing while in DT. I love him as a drummer and DT is one of my favorite bands but I don't like his singing lol.

  • being portnoy is the worst thing anyone could be

  • Let's hear Mangini do that. xD

  • @KornSOAD Why?....Instead of a growler wannabe metal god (Almost every Berklee promising drummer owns MP) they got a way better drummer....Lets see Portnoy owning a kit with toms running in zig zag with his ambidextrous skill or getting more than 3 WFD titles....He wouldnt even make it to Time Warp...Maybe just to see his spittin in slow motion...Mangini doesnt have to growl or to be Portnoy #2...He would humiliate himself...Hes just mature enough to not do so...Hes a drummer...not a comedian

  • trying to be nathan explosion?

  • sounds like Mikael Akerfeldt...

  • I don't know how Rudess, Myung and Pretucci didn't just die laughing. LaBrie just left the stage lol.

  • @glacier2win LaBrie always leaves the stage during their instrumental parts of the song. Not being a dick, just not wanting to stand the whole time lol.

  • @metaldrummer47 Yeah I know but still, it's funny to think that he had left for that reason lol.

  • @metaldrummer47 Sometimes he grabs the tambourine and sometimes he takes the shovel and digs holes

  • @OfivetwoekVeeDee exactly. Your JLB. Do what he wants lmao

  • @gaussman08 you said "satanic" twice. Well, I hope the best for DT's future without MP.

  • @gaussman08 Thats if they find a new drummer lol

  • gotta love him

  • pure shit

  • I really didn't like this part of the song... I don't want them to go into the metalcore direction. Or even close, for that matter.

  • @RaidonSama Why the hell ? Aren't they a progressive metal band !?

  • @ClosingTheCircle Yes, but they are getting into that range of unbelievably heavy music with aggressive growl instead of operatic singing. I really think they can explore dark music without getting too heavy. Of course, it's probably only a phase. I can't wait for 2011's album... even if Portnoy won't be with them.

  • @RaidonSama

    Agreed

  • I think that this passage is sooo awesome METAL! GREAT

  • Mike originally wanted to "growl" that section on the album, but James LaBrie thought it'd be too much for DT fans to handle. After a few different ideas, they decided to go with the more "Machine Head-like" screams to keep it heavy like the music during the section. However, when played live, Mike does it how he wanted it in the first place, evidently.

  • @boots33 Actually I would have loved it growled on the album.

  • His voice is so Deep ahah!

  • i was gonna go to this show too...

  • what is he actually saying? before his part in the song? hes shoutin something but what is he sayin?

also he says something after it aswell?

  • I think he says "How ya doin Minneapolis? Are you ready? Here we go." and after he yells "Take that!"
