Hi, just a quick question. I am soon going to upgrade my comp so I can play Arma 2. I am upgrading from a dual core to a quad core and getting a new GC and have budgeted for the new quad CPU and Graphics card, but are there other factors in an upgrade such as this I am not aware of? For instance will I need a new Motherboard? Case? Fan? Things like that? If you would like to, plz give me a heads up on what other things I will need to buy to make this upgrade. It would really help. :)

I once went like 1000kph :D Juyst go VERY high, fastest speed, go horizontal and when ur as fast as u can go u go dive. Its awesome if you fly over water with such speed but pretty hard to get close and the best view

You should try and set your CPU process priority of ArmA 2 to Realtime, it should totally annhilate performance issues by 50%. Performance issues by means of extreme gameplay.  My computer is super powerful, but my AMD Phenom II x4 965 is going bad. One day I will get the Intel Core i7 whenever I have money, but my game used to run good when I would set process priority. Now, every way that I set it; it seems to mess the game up. Sometimes on the highest settings, it will screw with sound.

Interesting. I haven't tried to set it on realtime.. I was assuming it would do that by default when running a game. I can imagine that it would only matter if alot of other processes are running in the background, and therefore have priority if the game is not in realtime.

my story is, I brought the game, it took freakin ages to load (so long I thought it wasnt going to work).

Then, the next day it didnt work because those C*nts at codemasters used a dodgy CD protection program that thought I had a hacked cd...

20 emails later (Im not kidding) no solution was found so I gave up with the game.

Plus I found the squad controls annoying (cant move whilst issuing orders? wtf is that all about)?

I think arma 2 benefits from high raw CPU clockspeed. ArmA2 ran better on my overclock 3,7Ghz dualcore than on my 2,8ghz Core i7 CPU.
