I gotta admit... Of all the actors and recording artists turned activist, I didn't expect one to take a stance on that side! Especially on global warming; I can name several who are convinced that it's getting worse. He's the first one to say otherwise.
@jimmyajp I don't totally agree with him, not on everything, but I admire him for the way he's honest and to the point. He should be heard as is his right.
fair play to him, saying the things that need to be said. people are not aware enough of these massive corporations in america that buy there way to power.
For example, saying that you believe the Earth will flood and you believe that millions of people will starve to death, and you believe that temperatures globally will rise altogether might sound like many far fetched beliefs - but instead, if you call it Global Warming, and then look at all the above examples as symptoms of one thing it is more digestable - we must come up with a rhetoric which is more digestible for people rather than only preaching to the converted. Does that make sense?
He comes across as well informed and articulate, and the interviewer gives him a fair shout. We should all consider though how even with these conditions, if you break all of these beliefs down into separate boxes they seem mad mentioned one after the other. A sort of rhetoric that talks about the problems as a whole philosophy might be more effective - but how would that be done?
The problem is also that it attempts to integrate a broad-ranging, radicalist - at least to the mainstream media - political discussion into a light entertainment show on a Saturday night. Whatever Jim Corr says is always going to be manipulated into a form that placates the average passive viewer.
He's right..! People need to dig a little deeper and open their eyes...!
