Don't stay here if you are going to a trade show because the pools and hot tub is only open between 9 to 4. So if you are on a working trip, you never get to use the hot tub (even though they charge and extra $23/night "resort" fee. They said that if I wanted a hot tub after 4pm, I could spend $35 for a trip to their Spa. I don't think they deserve my patronage a second time. I sent comments to management that never addressed. I guess the economy is such that they don't need to serve us.
THANKS A MILL FOR THE VIDEO...I WILL BE TRAVELING TO VEGAS NEXT MONTH AND WAS ABOUT TO BOOK THIS HOTEL...NOT ANYMORE..I GUESS MY SEARCH FOR ANOTHER HOTEL CONTINUES...::(
Thanks carla78786, your quick reports on rooms are just what we are looking for. If you can get that room for $109.00 then it is A-OK with me. never mind the 5 star hopes and dreams of a group in debt for 3 billion? 14 billion? quote
; JIM MURREN: “there’s no way you’re gonna survive this”,the boss of the biggest casino group in Las Vegas, MGM. Then it was “well, it’s going to open but it’s going to be a pile of shit because you’re gonna cut corners”.
We stayed there just last week ( Sept. 2010) and....well they told us the room we booked ( single king bed, no smoking) wasnt available....and we would have to take a smoking room (no thanks) or 2 queen beds, which we took...I didnt like the complicated remotes, or the small bathroom, or the slippery shower-tub combo...Nothing great here folks. The entire building was dark, including the casino. Mandalay Bay was MUCH better, Treasure Island even was better, NY NY was better...Aria is just OK
STAY AWAY FROM THE ARIA. Horrible customer service operating on a skeleton crew. Chances are you will NOT get the room you booked even when its done thru their site. After nearly an hour wait to check in they will tell you the room you booked and paid for is not available and will move you to a single bed or on the terribly stinking smoking floor. The person at the counter will tell you reservations for rooms are not a guaranteed as noted in small print. You play Russian Roulette staying here.
@flatpat Thanks for your comment about your recent bad encounter with Aria's front desk - seems they haven't learned their lesson yet & are still giving customers the runaround. That's their loss - we have choices - bring on the real Vegas 5 star resorts that treat their customers like gold and have better rooms & amenities too - you know where to find them!
@flatpat Tell me about it. We booked through JetBlue and they stuck us in Vdara. They can't trick the tricksters though, so me and my buddy did a little googling and complained about the room and their service so that they'd waive the daily service fees. They can shove that $70 up their ass. Plus, I walked out of their casino with 3:1 winnings, so I felt even better by taking their money. Thanks, MGM.
Great review. Thanks for all the info. Clearly you know what you're looking for in a Vegas room. While the amenities you list aren't necessary, you're right that they should be standard in a five star property.
I stayed here and I fully agree with everything you say. Nice place, but it surely did not match up to the hype. The best part of the video.......you look great in the mirror shot!
Yeah, the video out the window in your video was so incredible that did not seem "real" :-D
