MambaMax you can get in any RC store that distributes products from Castle Creations.

Otherwise: amainhobbies(.com)

Battery is one of FlightMax, but I wouldn't recommend the version that I used. It was not hard cased.

You can also look on amainhobbies(.com) for batteries or on hobbyking(.com) for cheaper models (which I also find to be very good!).

im thinking of the traxxas slash or rustler , which do you prefer? i drove the stock rustler with a VXL an it goes pretty fast and is really fun , but i never tried the traxxas stock , is it same speed or what>? please respond asap as for i am buying one real shorty tomorro

It depends: what kind of ESC and motor are you using.

If it can handle a 3s lipo, that's what I prefer. Else a 2s lipo.

I also prefer at least 5000mAh at +40C.

Nothing special. But a brushsless motor would speed things up a lot!

Cool video! We have almost the same set up you do: 5700 kv with a 5000mah, 7.4v, 25C, 2 cell. However we did change the pinion and the spur to the larger and to the smaller one, seemed to helped out a bit. But out Slash is long traveled.

Hi.

The MambaMax 5700kv is the best 540 size motor I ever had. I could only break it after running in the water.

Before, it never let me down. Even when it ran very hot. Do mind the gearing. Never use a pinion that is to large or to small. That will kill it also.

My FlightPower 2170mAh 3s LiPo: I ran it for approx. 10 mins in the Slash.

My Intellect 5000mAh 2s LiPo: I can't remember running it flat in my Slash... :o)

I mostly got tired of riding before the battery went down... :o)

And yes, that was the problem: there were no friends present at the time and I still wanted some footage of my Slash.

My 4yr old son isn't capable to shoot some footage, as he still is to young.

All I wanted was to get an idea of how fast that thing actually is. (Veeeery fast, that is!)

It also wasn't my intention to make a superb movie.

OKay okay, I was probably out of line saying that your truck sucks, I take it back. Im sure you've spent quite a bit of time, money, and effort getting it to where it is now. As far as the video: screen shots were ok, but the video really sucked. Anybody can run a car back and forth, back and forth. If you really had any friends they would have been able to hold the camera for you.
