  • i listen to a lot of JFK conversations.. and my question is... they have just 1 air traffic controller????? the voice is everytime the same eheh

  • lol...you wouldn't think he's working at one of the world's busiest airports. anyone know this guy's name? he reminds me of boston john

  • Thanks for posting this! Controllers can let the stress get to them an either get nasty or get friendly. I love this guy's approach. I'm a private pilot, and I had many good experiences flying through the VFR corridor between National and Dulles, especially as a student. (They treated student pilots like VIPs there! My instructor told me he always identified as a student.) But once I misread the AFD for MKE & contacted the wrong approach frequency. My ass is still sore from that chewing out!

  • omg that guy voice iv heard it alot of times lsting to jfk tower XD

  • He's just loving the best job in the world ...

  • Gotta Love Him!!!!

  • i´m from Spain and i don´t understend why the id of the plane is "CACTUS", anybody can answer me?

  • @zxcvx45

Cactus was originally America West's callsign. When US Air and America West merged, the latter's callsign was adopted by the whole airline.

  • @zxcvx45 Along with the former America West that kenadamsusa mentioned, their headquarters are in Phoenix, Arizona. An area well known for their cacti. Therefore, cactus became the call sign.

  • The [??] at 0:13 is just "V A"

Shame on you for not catching that. :P

  • Not fake but I would think he know the taxiways

  • lol, nice one

  • @Mr123456778910

This controller is still working JFK tower. You can tune in on liveatc.net and hear him in person, if you like.

  • @Mr123456778910 Let me guess - you were trained at a nontowered airport!

  • @Mr123456778910 Obviously we (ATC) dont always give taxiways. This recording is proving that haha. His way seems easier but by the book we have to give progressing taxi routes, but sometimes to make it easier we dont.

  • @Mr123456778910 say left & right can be used too why not? i see it ok. in SVMI ( venezuela ) sometimes atc when you land say "turn right Join F and C to international terminal"

  • @Mr123456778910 controllers say right or left as well as the taxiway name as well. "Left onto taxiway Bravo" this controller was telling the aircraft basically to just turn around, taxiway names were not needed. Not fake. and as kendamsusa said, go to live atc and you'll hear this exact controller workin the tower.

  • @Mr123456778910 Um, you're wrong. Those are perfectly legal commands. I am an Air Traffic Controller.

  • I may be wrong, but i think this guy doesn't work there anymore.

  • @daavi8tor he was just working the other night, classic stuff.

  • @syoung737 Hmmm, we must listen at different times sirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • Anybody know this guys name? This guys a legend :)

  • cool awsome atc :p

  • Haha! "Probably the only two bridges in NY you don't have to pay to go over" This is true

  • LOOL the guy obviously loves his job! :D great work!

  • LOL true dat

  • Wow CRAZY cowboy phraseology here.... wait I don't even think that was phraseology.

  • lol it's probably the only two bridges in new york you don't have to pay to go over

  • @wompasdub it's almost true he said new york not new york city

  • lmao that guy was funny wtf is zulab XD

  • @Ritslou ZULAB is one of the waypoints in the area.

  • oh ok i thought the guy was supposed to say zulu but was saying zulab insted

  • its a navagational fix used as a reporting point on the approach into JFK

  • im glad theres people like that. I dont get how pilots and ATC can understand each other when they are either mumbling or talking too fast.

  • You might like a little FAA comedy web series. Take a look at my channel. I made a movie, "Budget Justified," about what it was like to work in FAA offices in Washington

  • LOL! yes fun stuff! ck out this other air traffic control

video someone put up for Christmas. air traffic controllers

go a little crazy when pilots spot a "bogey" on Christmas eve. tyep "Christmas skies" and it should be first one up.

  • for the first [?] you put in from Cactus 12, he was saying "Victor, Alpha" as in he was repeating the taxiway instructions given from the ATC

  • This guy is a WINNER!!!!! New ATC hero!

  • ATC!

  • Funny stuff

  • More ! More!

  • hahaha now that was funny. only two bridges in ny that you dont have to pay to go over. truly epic.

  • pilots and air traffic controllers are like brothers, they will fight with each other and play jokes aswell.

  • classic

  • cool

  • lol its the only two bnridges in ny you dont have to pay to go over hahaha epic

  • hahahahaha the only two bridges in new york.... :D

  • Splendid!

  • hahaaha i liked the bridge line

  • That guy was funny!

  • classic haha

  • I'd love to come across him if i were to be a pilot...cool guy!

  • Hehe, maybe I'll be this guy in the future. Talking happily despite the stress.

Just to let you guys know at 0:09, he says, "Left Victor, left Alpha." And at other parts. The reason why he uses words instead of letters is to not let the pilot get confused with letters since some letters do sound alike.

  • Your kinda right but they are set works for every letter in the alphabet, A is Alpha, B is bravo, C is charlie etc etc.

  • ROFL! Nice!

Somebody obviously enjoying their work there. 8-)

  • Brilliant! This chap sounds like a real nice bloke!

Lol at what he says about ground at 1:12

  • hahaa jetBlue 836 is a flight from Santiago, Dominican Republic

  • well.. this between this guy and boston john the northeast is pretty well covered for humor :)

  • I have a new fav airport to fly to when I get back to flying :)

  • hah, that guy is awesome.

  • A happy worker is good worker.

  • he is awesome whats his name?

  • Oh my God that guy is awesome!

  • Hey, this guy is great! How he keeps his sense of humor is incredible condering the stress and pressure this job endures. He definitely is entertaining! I'm sure all the pilots in the area like this guy! Thanks for sharing it here with us! Great job!

    Ken Palmer

  • i love the last 10 seconds haha. that's so true

  • I love this job!!!

  • I would love to do this as a job

  • his intonations like announcer or radio DJ

  • Jaja!! excelent!! jajaja

  • I love this guy, totally unflappable and professional at his job. Most FAA controllers never get the rewards they deserve. That would be a cushy leather chair and a microphone at the right hand of God where Starbucks coffee is dispensed throughout the daily 1/2 hour shifts and the angels always know where to taxi.

  • So good and so true, keep up the great work.

  • That dude is a BAMF!!

  • This sounds like Seth Rogan! Awesome.

  • Comment removed

  • I didn't remove this. Bastard.

  • Was it bad what you said? Someone's comment got removed on my video the other day and I didn't even read it and it said it was removed. Maybe a glitch.

  • Comment removed

  • What a legend!

  • haha.. hes great !!!

  • He is freaking awesome :D

  • LMAO this dude is awesome!! lmao

  • thats gonna be me someday lol hes pamp lol

  • wow dude i wish they where all like this

  • 1:15-1:27 was fucking awesome

  • haha this controller is a funny cunt

  • brilliant, so wish all twr controllers were like this

  • yeah like me... i'm so happy when i'm in the TWR..

  • LOOOL

Man this is the best controller in the world!!!

  • yea the controller at jfk is the man!

  • Hi to the controller whos' voice that belongs to...however you do your job keep doing it don't change a thing and keep posting on youtube fantastic to listen to.

  • I'm not sure ICAO would have liked that ;) I would have got my ass kicked by the instructor if I talked like that :)

  • Yeah he's one of the best.. Some of the other guys are hilarious...but ya just gotta get the job done-- always fun to listen to.

  • that is awesome

  • That waz by far one of the cooliest damn ATC ive heard i like him LOL

  • Very good enunciation on the numbers and letter-names. :)

  • thats called a conditional clearance. used during VMC if i'm not mistaken.

onus on the pilot to maintain separation.

  • this guy is a cool cat

  • at 20sec how is it that clearance was given to number 2? i thought only number 1 gets clearance !??

  • In some countries multiple clearances are used.

  • @hmfy Gave him the sequence to the airport and his clearance. Do it all the time, didnt know there were places you can't do that haha

  • @LiquidFrost where i fly, ppl in uk.. clearance to land always given to number 1.. when he lands a clearance is given to the new number 1.. never 2 clearances to land are given.. maybe it happens i just dont know much im new to flying! but never experienced it in real life!

  • @hmfy

you can clear 2 or 3 aircraft to the same runway unless theres an aircraft positon and hold on the runway

  • @hmfy Nah, it's fine. He can give that clearance as long as both aircraft are on the same freq. Safe, Orderly, Expeditious. He's being all of those.

  • lol thats pretty good lol the only ATCer thats not stressed out lol

  • Im trying to be an Air Traffic Controller with the FAA! I think the Tower is where its at even though they are considering me for ARTCC. Wish me luck!

  • i wish u luck, maybe we will meet over the radio sometime ;) - I'am a pilot

  • thanks!

  • Good luck there

  • thanks!

  • i like how C12 didnt even respond to his first joke

    lol

  • oh,ok. I missunderstood than.

  • future747pilot, if you want to be a 747 pilot one day, get a scanner with aviation freq's, go to an airport and listen. After a while it'll all start making sense and you'll understand. Also get a "ATC talk" book for beginners. It'll also help. good luck.

  • LOL!! That controller is definitely not a new yorker. Much too cool and funny. Probably just moved to NY. :)

  • You might be right! Most controllers are not from where they work at.

  • Most definitely. That's how most Traffic Controllers have to be. Bring some fun into a stressful environment.

  • Excellent video, great and more relaxed and funny ATCO! Hi 5! :)))

  • "probably the only 2 bridges in new york you dont have to pay to go over" lol. this guy makes the job a little easier

  • classic, such a nice guy, makes it all easier.

  • I'll buy him lunch any day!

  • only two bridges in New York you dont have to pay to go over. i want to be ATC or a pilot when i get older. FSX Online is the closest i'll get to being an ATC, but my mic broke so i cant online anymore :(

    He's funny guy

  • I have and love FSX Deluxe on Multiplayer, but why don't you just buy a new headset that has a mic.

  • i am 2 cheep to buy a new one lmao i will be getting one soon i hope. whats your gamespy ID

  • a funny guy.

  • As a student Air Traffic Controller, I want to be just as cool and skilled as this controller on this video.

  • Warning, very stressful job.

  • it can be

  • nice one..

  • What a cool controller!

  • i'd love for him to be in atc when im flyinq. the WHOLE fliqht.

  • I get heat at work for being too friendly on the frequency.. but I can't help it. I love my job, and I provide the best service possible!

  • well he got busy last night...

  • lols

  • haha what a guy! Wish English Atc were as interesting and humorous as him.

  • welcome to the NYC. The best fuckin' people in the world.

  • last line funny!!!

  • Excellent radio voice.

  • Oh man I wish all life was like that guy lives it! What a god.

  • LOL at the last line :D

  • I could listen to him all day long! :D

  • 5 stars just for the last comment!

  • I only hope that when I fly into Kennedy I get this guy...this video makes me love my job

  • hahaha i know which guy this is now...he's my fave on the jfk_twr stream i listen to.

  • "It's Probably the Only two Bridges in NewYork you don't have to pay to go over." damn right! lol

  • haha i agree lol. you need EZ pass everywhere in NYC

  • "Im much more intresting" :D

  • I wish all ATC were like this

  • That is great!

  • Nice Tower :)

  • lo good 1

  • "It's Probably the Only two Bridges in NewYork you don't have to pay to go over."

    hhahahahahahahahaha

  • ZULAB :D

  • ZULAB is an international waypoint a few miles east of runway 31 near JFK.

  • cactus 12 sounds like a government callsign.

  • "Cactus" = callsign for Southwest Airlines (and now US Airways, too).

  • thanks did not know that. i figured it had to be an airline since it was taxi-ing to a gate. i live near love field, southwest's hub, and down there southwest is just southwest.

  • Southwest airlines call sign, is Southwest. Cactus is, America West's old call sign. However, now that America West and US Airways merged they both use Cactus.

  • Great, another merger.

  • alitalia or nwa???

  • wrong; "Cactus" is the callsign for America West, which has merged with US Air. Southwest is "Southwest."

  • Sorry, you are correct, of course. Was not thinking this AM when I posted--was focusing on the "US Air" part.

  • CACTUS is the callsign for America West Airlines.

  • CACTUS is the callsign of America West Airlines.

  • haha only 2 bridges u dont have to pay to go over.

  • Splendid maintain visual seperation!!! Lol. My Fav. Part

  • Heheh funny guy :)

  • hehe... i like him... really funny...

  • Kudos to ATC !!!

  • thats some cool air traffic guy fun to work wit

  • fantastic! I don't understand why, when speaking on a radio, you have to sound soooo serious. Bring a smile to your pilots, and make everybody day, just a little bit better I know I try

  • FYI: Cactus 12 said "Victor, Alpha, Cactus 12"

  • FYI: taxiway names

  • Haha, "It's probably the only bridge in New York that you don't have to pay to go over." That ATC is pro! ^_^
