I suffer from a connective tissue disorder that causes severe pain.Due to my age I could not get help from doctors. It ruined my 20's. I now get help from a doctor and take MScontin 2x daily and still barely have a life. I throw up a great deal of my meds due to migraines caused by a deformed spine/neck and cant even get 10 extra pills for close that gap. There is a problem out there but this IS hurting people in legit pain. If I did not have my meds I would want to die.

I take Opana (Oxymorphone) which is stronger than and more effective than having to take immediate dose painkillers which are more abuse prone. I took Oxycontin and it helped for awhile but I switched with my doctors permission to prevent tolerance. He counts how much I take daily and if I need extra he counts out that dose. Mosst management clinics try reasonable narcotic use. Along with other therapy methods. Oxy ABUSE can kill, not use. Take responsibility and dont ruin life for everyone.

this issue DOES need to be addressed by govts at all levels...My X had a pain killer Rx addiction...he would go to 3 md's for the same "issue" get 3 Rx's filled at the SAME national chain pharmacy and get them filled. when i found all the receipts I confronted the pharmacist and questioned his prof ethics by filling the same script 3x to the same patient in 3 days...his response, was like "so what, im just doing my job, go home and deal with your husband" I have no patience for stupidity!!

his "managable" addition lasted about 3 yrs until one time he came home completely in another world, passed out on the terrace...no one accidently" takes an entire bottle of fiorcets, was in a coma, almost died, they baker-acted him but psychiatrist disregarded by concerns and the X was back at square one...thats when I decided to end the marriage....fortunately, 8 yrs later...he's off the pills, we have a happier divorce than our marriage ever was, and we're in a good place now with each other
