This must be an early performance of this song because they're using the "Pleasure Principle" stage set, not the "Telekon" set. He had already previewed "Remember I Was Vapour," which appears in "The Touring Principle" and "Living Ornaments '79." So this makes sense.

Does anyone know where one can get the complete recording of this Paris concert? It is lying is some French tv station vault? I know the same station did The Clash and a few others. They played a few from this series a few years back.

this was a single prior to telekon that wasnt included on the original uk release of the album, nor was we are glass. the touring principle toured north america early 1980 so this was around then.

Nice. But how did it get on the touring principle tour 79. I got the video and its not there and Anyway it's a telekon Song. Still its worth a look.

This was filmed in 1980 on the European tour - Numan had already nearly completed Telekon.

Great clip. One thing that always puzzled me about this song is that on the lyrics sheet is says, "does everything stop when the old man fails", when in every live performance it sounds like Numan is saying, "does everything stop when the old tape fails."

Your wrong im afraid, the official proper lyric is "does everything stop when the old TAPE fails", but in some live performances he sings "MAN" instead of TAPE but mainly he sings the propers lyric.......I hope that clears that out.

No it doesn't. Why does he say "old tape" when the lyric sheet says "old man"? I'm going by the old vinyl lyric sheet by the way.

Hi, No I've not enhanced it in any way though the blacks could be blacker.Not sure where I got this recording from, most of my videos are my own but not this one.I will put Replicas & Down In The Park from the same show on ASAP.

@industrial82 No don't make the blacks blacker because then Gary'd just be a floating head with a bit of dancing lights behind him. I mean the whole thing is super dark as it is because it was supposed to be.
