  • Deleted, right? Oh...delete the video itself then.

  • Massive vocal range here, very underated singer

  • Definitely agree. I think that many people are just too obsessed with how handsome he is; they don't even pay attention to the singing. Which I think is sad.

  • Ultimate 80's music. Permanent cd in my car!

  • you freaks!

  • Super music, first class.

  • Commuter

  • at 2:55 its so freaking awsome when they just fade out and then it comes back again. 5/5 and super pluss for youtube widescreen now ;D

  • Brilliant, powerful music. A grand salute to AHA!

  • Another great song and video. I can't believe they didn't catch on in the US beyond Take on Me... :(

  • Well.. it's hard to replicate that overlapping synth tune loop... but I've managed to create something in the order of that... post it soon for ringtone

  • You can view the original animation in "Commuter" by Michael Patterson here:

    film-dot-calarts-dot-edu

    /main/streaming/expanim20.html

  • This video was animated by Michael Patterson, who also did the "Take On Me" video. Some of the animation in the "Train of Thought" video was taken from his student film "Commuter", which he did in 1981 at Cal Arts.

  • Great song! They really didn't get enough airplay in the U.S. I think. I've never heard more than a few of their songs and I was in grade school when they were at their popularity peak here. Must say that Morten sounds like David Bowie when he sings the low notes which is awesome, since David Bowie is another of my favorite singers.

  • I think that he also sounds like Marian Gold from Alphaville at times.

  • wow forgot about this song! Awesome

  • I want a ringtone of that tune!

  • i know its fuckin awesome

  • I hope there is a way to filter out that high synth tune. It's difficult to reproduce that... somehow it seems to be echoed by playing the same tune by 1/2 beat delay...

Gonna make my own ringtone and post it.

  • es idea mia o es León Trotsky quien aparece en el minute 3:00 ???????!!!!!

  • I was about 11 and thought they were amazing. They inspired Coldplay so they weren't that bad.

  • An amazing song by a great band.

  • Excellent song and video 5*

  • This song is very very nice.

    An italian fan

  • Man I wish this type of music was here again. I mean, nowadays most of the people listen to "rock music" which is not that much of a rock music compared to the 80s rock. But A-ha was the best synthpop band and still is in Europe. I like the hairstyles, the clothes, everything. God I want to be in the 80s again... When everything wasn't black...

  • I'll love to have Morten's hairstyle. This song describes the hard work of office life and all the thoughts that invade your mind while you're in it.

  • i dont understand how they didn't have many hits in the US their songs are better than alot of songs ive heard from the 80's..wtf America!!!

  • This song may have been too intelligent for the US airwaves, really. I did not understand this record or the term back when I was a teenager.

  • Their great music was too melodic, too earnest for the USA. I should know, I was there!

  • They have a different taste than Europeans.

  • I live in the Us (am originally from Canada or Missouri, depending on how you look at it) and agree totally. 'Take on Me' was vapid-all due respect to A-Ha-as compared to A-Ha's other work, but of course it was the successful song in consumer driven america.

Drop me a line or respond to this if you want to talk more.

  • Agreed, westman34! It's sad, very sad. Even more sad is that they couldn't get contracts in the US for some of their incredible, more recent work (Summer Moved On and Lifelines were wonderful).

  • I think they suffered from too many comparisons to Ultravox and being in the aftermath of bands like simple minds, ABC, Talk Talk, Naked Eyes.... They were great, just a bit late on a scene that was getting a bit tired...

  • Very good video and song. Too bad most of the time you only hear "Take on me", which is NOT their best song!

  • Soo true! The radiostations and TV stations refuse to play some other songs instead of the same song. >:(

  • me encanta la voz de morten en esta cancion

  • Morton rocked!

  • the synth and beats in this tune is very catchy.

  • luvved this years ago its from hunting high and low album

  • Ahh The Inter European Days.

  • this song pwns so hard :P

  • They played this song live today!!! Damn, what a feeling!

  • Such an excellent foil for the somewhat overplayed 'Take On Me'. Possibly a better arranged song, always one of my fav a-ha tunes!

  • Noel Gallagher's favourite a-ha song!

  • Is that true that Noel Gallagher likes A-ha?!

I love the animation like in Take on me.

  • He said he thought they were cool in the 80ies. At a party for the Q award 2006( a-ha won the Q inspiration award), he danced with Magne and told him he loved "Train of thoughts".

Morissey was a fan in the 80ies too (now, I don't know); Chris Martin from Coldplay too...

  • Love this song this is the best song from Aha. Beat, voice, sound/Synths...why dont they come to California San Francisco?

  • I love norway : )

  • morten's whole facial expression makes me drool and melt...

  • This vidclip shows that not everything has to be computergraphics.. this was way much cooler.

  • Wonderful drawings! And first of all, a Beautiful voice and lovely song. Thank you A-ha.

  • Almost every shot of this is just from The Commuter, except a few shots of the band. Kind of funny.

  • god i love this song :D

  • me too

  • The dynamic animations matches the beat of the music.. very nice. You can use it for dance music events on a big screen. It still looks good! Is there any other vid clip with this kind of feature? (except dire straits 3d money 4 nothin...)

  • Try to see A-Ha's Take On Me. The official videoclip.

  • i love this vid, but it's a bad quality

  • great idea also to make the video appear sketched at times....like an artist....guess thats why one of their videos was no 2 in best ever....only mj's thriller could beat it....

  • great driving music....this band did a few....

    classic music...

  • man, I wish I was alive back then...A-Ha rules

  • omg i love mortons voice

    he was so cute

  • great song and so typical voice of Morten.. and also cool video.. i love the alternate him in 'real' and 'draw', like with Take on me.. makes something special

  • spirit of 80s, awesome.

  • Awesome track from one of the most underrated groups of all time.

    Brilliant!!!

  • listening to this brings me back to the 80's era in a sec. so fantastic!

  • My fave A-ha song didn't get the credit it deserved in my country

  • Interesante la zamponha en una epoca tan memorable del rock electronico...Alles gut alles Klar!

  • The lead singer whose name is Morton was the best looking singer of the 80's A-HA lives on

  • those panpipes are wicked

  • A-Ha Rules!! With all the FM radio stations -here in Lima-Peru- currently fully devoted to 80's Rock&Pop: They don't care about these other A-Ha hits!

Stereo 33 UHF had a very powerful Weekly Ranking with the IN Hits back then...

  • Class

  • i love aha

  • Just fantastic. Along with Cry Wolf one of A-ha's most underrated songs, yet both of them create such emotion and creative feeling with superb video effects, which were way ahead of the time.

  • alguien tiene esta cancion en vivo?
