i dont understand why they had to change the storyline by making slope such an attractive character. In the book he is supposed to be ugly and is often described as a sweaty 'animal'.!!!

This is available on Netflix (something I didn't know when I paid $30 bux for it). $30 is totally worth it though for endless pleasure watching Alan make yet another ugly/sweat/greasy/git totally fucking sexy. I don't think they (meaning the producers) try to change the characters... they just hire Alan and it's inevitable that they become attractive. It's voo-doo that he does.

hmm I was wondering sth, can Alan Rickman be a very good Sherlock Holmes? For me Jeremy Brett is Sherlock Holmes but seems that Alan Rickman can also be one very good Holmes (definitely better than Downey Jr :P)
