  • may i remind u of the over 100,000s civilians who died at okanawa?? japanese people did that, on 1 TINY ISLAND!!!!

  • 1944, just let the past to the past.and stop boring people whit history.

  • @Dounet54

    history repeats itself

  • 60 million people were killed by Americans this last past 50 years in the world. two wars since 90s.

  • COOL!!

  • (part 3) How is it that during a war, even while on two opposing sides, people can come to terms with each other and even later have nothing for respect for each other, but now, when there is no war or conflict between people's countries, we act like this? I find it extremely ironic. We had better terms with each other during a war than we do now.

  • life, and that he is welcome in his household if he ever comes to Japan. He ended up going to Japan to meet him, and his entire family. He said that if he had killed himself, that all his family he had gathered in his house would not be alive, and gave him his families samurai blade that was nearly 400 years old, also the same one he had with him when they encountered each other. All these comments have nothing but irrational hate towards other people. ->

  • (part 2) and shot the first one. The second one was attempting to get his long blade, but he knocked it away from him. The samurai still had his short blade, and was about to commit seppuku. My friends grandfather was attempting to make him lower his blade. Despite neither of them knowing the others language, he put down his gun and got him to put down his blade. Nearly 25 years after the war, my friends grandfather received a letter form the same man. It said he was grateful for sparing his ->

  • All these comments make it seem as though one specific side was the victim, or just being completely negative towards Japanese and Americans.

One of my sophomore friends and their dad came into our history class with an actual samurai sword as we were learning about feudal japan. He took nearly half the class telling us the story of how he got it. He told us how his father was in WW2, and he was on a small island close to japan. He got departed from his group. He came across 2 samurai eating ->

  • kamikaze were so brave. They died in honour of Hirohito and Japan. I still look up to them in the heavens as a source of inspiration.

  • @feerfeerw you shouldn't. No matter the perspective, it's still horrible.

They didn't get to chose to do this, they were chosen. If they denied, they were shamed.

Having shame in japan is the worst thing for a person. I actually don't think they even had the choice of denying

  • @vocoloidfreak11 They are all vollantary pilots.

  • 有事になった際のアメリカ人が如何にメンタルが弱いかよく判る。

    ベトナムでもイラクでも使い物にならなくなった人間が多いと聞く

    それに比べて、特攻隊やインパールを闘った日本人は逞しかったと思う。

  • @jeffyuuta type in english u thick cunnth! maby ill type in galic, agus feicaigh me fein tu sein e anois, bhfuil me kic as an poll! an amadan agat! have some respect 4 the english! the irish still do 4 our neighbours!

  • Sad, Sad, Sad!! Kamikaze Pilots should have bright future. Also American young sailors should have bright future......

If they met together and had glass of beers, they could easily understand each other and became good friends. But they must kill each other............

I wanted to be a navy officer of Japanese Defense Force, but I hated war, still I hate. I was ready for any war against Japan. I know I am writing something contradictory.

But I believe we could avoid this tragic war.......

  • stupid yet you have to respect what they have done for their country

  • My great-grandfather died doing it, my grand father said he's still proud for what his father did for his country, Even thought my Grandfather is Japanese he doesn't speak it because he was never taught due to the war

  • did that crazy fucked up cunt sink the essex? r were they abel to get her back to land?

  • A kamikaze hit the port edge of her flight deck landing among planes gassed for takeoff, causing extensive damage, killing 15, and wounding 44. Following quick repairs, she operated with the task force off Leyte.

  • I would be wearing shit if i were in one of these ships

  • Within the Roosevelt regime, there were many evidences that can prove that covert agents of Soviet's Comintern were infiltrated in the US government and they played siginificant role in leading US foreign policy such as Hull note for forcing Japan to be engaged in war with US.

  • That's why you had to pay substantial price in Korea and Vietnam. Yanks just paid our debt in Korea and Vietnam, even helped Mao to have his own communist country and now you are about to leave the Fareast because you will be in well range of chinks' ballastic missile threat. How stupid...

  • Yanks stabbed on the back of Japanese who were fighting to prevent the Asian Continent about to be communized by the Russians. But thank you very much to Yanks. You did a real great job interfering us to build the blockade againt the communism.

  • @keimajima who stabbed who in the back?who attacked without a declaration of war? who attacked without warning? it was Not the Yanks who attacked japan so the americans should have sad back while u killed so many of their own service men n said ty mr Japan u r having a laugh u bit something u couldn't chew n paid the price itsw your imperialist leaders to blame Not Americans

  • Who else google translated the second top comment?

  • This isn't real they were never flying alone, always in groups!!

  • @androidisreadytoplay

    You're an idiot

  • Comment removed

  • kamikaze is 神風

  • Superb, go Japs!!

  • have the guts to go nuts

  • what show is this?

  • Oh the humaity!

  • @V1llary I'm sure his father called them "Japs" and worse. They were barbaric in their actions. Read a book sometime. I'm sure there were some US troops who were also barbaric but, not to the extent of the Japanese. Alot of people died because of the ideals of their leaders and thats sad but, unfortunately, thats the way politics work sometime. The japanese attack on Pearl Harbor came while the 2 nations were still at peace. They suffered for their actions.

  • @vf74tomcat Just because a black person robbed you once doesn't make it okay to call them all n*ggers. That is your argument whether you realize it or not.

  • @V1llary My argument is just what I stated. His father probably called (past tense) them "Japs" or even worse. Back then society wasn't as politically correct as today. As far as the rest of my statement, they were barbaric in their actions , especially during their attacks on the Chinese. Maybe you should also read a book sometime. Look up the Nanking massacre. Too many uninformed people on here spewing their opinions instead of fact.

  • average kamikaze pilots was 18 years old.

"Think about when you were" 18 "and how scared you may have been in the same situation."

They had to pretend they are honored to kill himself.

their house got burned, friends and brothers were killed,

then people who started all these mess came and

    told them to kill them-self.

i cant even starts to imagine how they felt.

  • @atmark666 Fuck em...........japan deserves a thousand tsunamis for the horror they unleashed upon the world.

  • Comment removed

  • @atmark666 I do not know where you are from, but, thanks to the Bushido tradition, they WERE honored when they got chance to kill Imperialist pigs, even by killing themselves.

Explain why IJN had more recrutits for Kamikaze units than they had planes?

  • @Duke0Forever

hello hater, i have no idea but

if your country face civilian bombing, you would do

whatever you can to prevent it.

  • @atmark666 well,I hate my country and human race so i don't care,but I respect this people

  • @Duke0Forever *these

  • @atmark666 Do you mean the coward Americans who nuke two cities full of civilians??

  • @patriotistopiano1 they werent cowards. saying thats just shows how ignorant u were

  • This is so sad. So many of Japan's best pilots were lost on that day.

  • @oSgtSquirtso if you think about it,by using one man to take down a whole ship, they save many others pilots live indeed

  • @oSgtSquirtso Actually not really. All their best pilots were already dead by this point in the war. Many Kamikaze were given only minimal training, one because of the obvious and two because they had barely any fuel left. Were there some good pilots left that were also Kamikaze, trained and with some experience? Sure, but they were the exception.

  • @brainsareus honestly, i would rather be called dick than dickholas

  • あなたは日本のことはできません。)

  • @nabeken1012 toda la razon amigo japones

  • @nabeken1012 私は反対

  • @nabeken1012 I translated his comment and it is an angry rage about US prejudice and how we got into this war because of 'color prejudice' as google translate calls it.

  • haha ~

  • @mw2RULEZ1000 don't be silly. You know better than to believe what you just said.

  • wow

  • So, you mean, Japanese were worth killing? To know what will happen after the nuclear, you don't feel anything bad about killing many innocent people? Do you think bombing Japan was justice? You said it will take few years to end the war if US didn't bomb Japan. That's not true. It would have took only few weeks to end the war. One thing for sure is that because of the bombing by US, the war ended within 2weeks.

  • @lakostal Yup your right it was a horrible thing that happend. That many civilians did not need to die, even at all. But please dont take your anger out on americain civilians many of wich who were not even born yet when this happend. If anything be mad at the U.S govt. OK? Im not trying to be mean i just want to reason with you and try to figure out why you hate USA so mutch other than the whole nuke bomings during WWII.

  • @einhander876 you just said it retard other than the whole nuke bomings during WWII........... millions were killed in japan he has a reason to hate you and be all war like sworn enemies nomatter who stated the war or not

  • @einhander876 You are right, it's not the people but the government.. about 1 month after the first atomic bomb got tested they released two of them in Japan, just shows how fucking stupid they are

  • Death is as light as a feather, duty as heavy as a mountain... You have to admire their bravery and tenacity, the poor bastards.

Btw, is this narrated by Brian Cox? Love that guy,

  • KAMIKAZE = SUCIDE PILOT BOBMER

  • What the hell are you doing dude, its not a dolphin or whale!

  • fkn japs die u motherfucker

  • 15 killed, 44 wounded & extensive damage to the carrier. RIP

PIlot of the Yokosuka, Lieutenant Yamaguchi.

  • It is all about honor. Great

  • eroi

  • they fucked up the americans with that tactics

  • @TheExploit91 Americans were pussies for doing that.. cowards.

  • @lakostal For doing what? For having planes crashed into their ships. Strange thinking, to say the least.

  • @thorpowerfly For nuking hiroshima and nagasaki or whatever it was, 100k innocent people killed just like that. You get away with it because you are USA. I hope you go bankrupt you fucking assholes

  • The atomic bombs did not kill nearly as many people as the regular bombs were killing. Japan refused to surrender repeatedly even though we were destroying their cities and killing their people by the thousands every day. Do you propose we should have just let them rebuild their armed forces after they killed millions of people and tried to take over 1/2 the world? We had a new weapon and we used it to force a quick end to the war. Very sad for those who died, but the bombs did end the war.

  • @Oddwun It's still your fault, Pearl Harbor could have been avoided, since australian intelligence told roosevelt about it 3 days before the attack.

But you know why he didn't do anything ? Because he wanted to enter the war. War is all about money and Banking Corporations making tons of profit by lending to everyone.

Civilian lives don't worth anything, when both U.S. and Japan can take advantage of the monetary aspects of the war.

  • @Seallie The attacks on Pearl Harbor were America's fault. You are a freakin genuis! I have never heard such wisdom before in my life! The only way we could have avoided the attack on Pearl Harbor was to start selling gas/oil and other resources to the Japanese again. Our embargo on them is their reason for attacking us. Brutal country slaughtering millions of people and we should have agreed to continue aiding them to prevent an attack on us, great plan you have there.

  • @Oddwun Fuck off, your Government KNEW about a japanese TASK FORCE moving TOWARDS Pearl Harbor 3 days before the first attack, if Roosevelt actually alerted them, a lot of lives would have been saved.

  • @Seallie Never said it wasn't possible or probable that we knew of the attacks, that makes no difference. Alerted who? How do you know there wasn't an alert? Notice how there were zero aircraft carriers in Pearl Harbor when the attacks came? No matter how much you hate America you cannot get through the fact that America was attacked, unprovoked. America was a victim and America only defended herself and her allies. If America did not enter the war most of the Pacific would now belong to Japan.

  • @Seallie

America should've entered the war wether they were attacked or not. If not only to help britain and it's allies. I'm sure britain would've come to america's aid.

  • @draugtroll u r wrong If america didn't enter the war the japanese wou;ld have attacked Russia in the pacific n if that happened Russia could not fight them both together once they overun Russia then it would a een britain's turn by then they might even had the atomic bomb what chance for American on their own to take atomioc power nazi germany? good or bad give me America anyday to nazi germany n imperial japan

  • @lakostal Japanese were stupid for doing that.. Idiots.

  • @AlabamaSoldier What the fuck are you talking about? It was USA that nuked Japan, they didnt nuke their own country stupid american

  • @lakostal If you're going to label someone as being stupid, you should at least be smart enough to know what is not stupid. The Japs used kamikazes. They were idiots. And so are you.

  • @AlabamaSoldier You only know the fact, the history which was written by Americans. Study about why the war had to start, imagine why Japanese had to use Kamikaze, imagine about the people who had to die even though you didn't want to, study about why America had to use the nuke.

  • @AlabamaSoldier Read both history book which was written by American and Japanese, or read a book which was written by neither of the country. You'll find alot of new history. It is easy to finish the discussion saying "idiot" , and that means you don't have anything to say becasue you don't have any knowledge about it.

  • @REDZAKO So, what's your point?

  • @AlabamaSoldier Sorry I couldn't answer to you soon. My point is that there are many points of view when you talk about history. Did Kamikaza pilots really wanted to die? Were they crazy? Japanese governments in those days might have been crazy but there was no choice. USA would have won the war even they didn' use nuke. So, why did USA had to use nuke and kill many children and citizen? Because they wanted to know what will happen to human after they are nuked. It was just an experiment.

  • @REDZAKO Now that so many people have nuclear weapons, it's a good thing that that "experiment" was carried out.

You're right. America was going to win. The only difficulty was that there were two roads to that victory: one which lead through a few years and many hundreds of thousands of American and Japanese lives, and one that lead through only a few days and fewer than 200k Japanese lives. You're saying we should've chosen road #1?

  • @AlabamaSoldier And another thing is that, there was no time for the USSR to rule Japan because of the sudden end of the war. That was lucky for Japan when you think about it nowadays but in those days, nobody knew which was better, Japan ruled by US or USSR. One more thing I want to tell you is that Japanese killed many Chinese and Koreans, but don't forget, US killed many many Japanese.

  • @REDZAKO One killed in the name of conquest, the other killed in the name of ending a war that was unjustly started. And you're comparing them?

  • @AlabamaSoldier So, can you tell me why Japan started the war? If you know the reason, I am sure you wouldn't use the word "conquest". If you have a friend from India, Thailand or Indonesia, ask them. I think they'll answer it for you.

  • @REDZAKO Japan started the war because the US was growing increasingly uneasy with Japanese conquests in Manchuria, China, and southeast Asia. The attack on Pearl Harbor was an effort to neutralize the American Pacific fleet in one stroke, which would give Japan time to turn the Pacific into a fortress before any counterattack could be had.

I fail to see how you believe conquest had nothing to do with Japanese motives.

  • @AlabamaSoldier 1.I never said Japan never conquered a nation. As I told you, Japanese killed many people.

2.Reasons don't matter. What matters is that many innocent people died, and you don't feel sorry for them.

Many christians were living in Nagasaki, and they died too. How do you feel about that.

3.What you answered to my question is "Beginning of the End of the war".

It's hard to write my opinion with short message. If you want to know my opinion, I'll mail you.

  • @REDZAKO I think its just to say that the war between Japan and US was a war between two empires. We should remember that Hawaii was not a part of US legaly nor was it Japanese, its was occupied by USA during that time and in a way still is. When the Philippines was invaded by Japan it was not "liberated" and when USA took it back from Japan it was still not liberated, only different qonquerors. This was a war by imperialists trying to outdo eachother. Japan did not fire a single bullet in USA.

  • @tonilourdes If we follow that logic to completion there is no United States, it is all just occupied. In fact there are no countries anywhere, they were all formed by people occupying land that was other people's. That's the way the world has worked since men first learned to swing sticks and throw rocks at each other. Trying to demonize the USA for following the same practices mankind has followed for it's entire existence is anachronistic crapola.

  • @REDZAKO

The problem is that there probably wasn't a good way to end the war quickly and with few casualties. Japan wasn't going to surrender. There probably was a better way than the bombs. If we had invaded Japan, the Japanese were ordered to kill all POWs. Also, the battle would have taken more than weeks. The Japanese still had 2.3 million army troops alone and a civilian militia of 28 million people that would fight for Japan. Kamikazes attacks would become more frequent too.

  • @REDZAKO im sorry man i was trying to comment on alabamasoldier i hate people with his personality

    takebacks men

  • @barettmario Sorry for my poor English, I couldn't understand what you were saying. I grew up in USA and I don't hate Americans, actually I don't hate any particular people. I admire John Lennon and the world should not have war again. Japanese faught to save Japan, American faught to save America, that's it.

  • @barettmario Few years ago there was a rule against using cluster bombs. It's ridiculous. War is about killing. It doesn't matter how you kill or what you use to kill. If they can follow the rules, why not write "no killing" on top of the rule book. If you like hip hop, I am sure you know the movie "BEAT STREET". I like this song called Beat Street Theme - Grandmaster Melle Mel.

  • I would of been packin darkies!!

  • @oldmtnfart Kamikaze pilot is about 16~20 years old. They are brave you know.If I have been in the same situation, I wiil go to hit the ship like a kamikaze. Why are there 5,000 mens as kamikaze in Japan? Japan have no oil,no iron, no resource ,no food .Kamikaze air plain made by wood.So ,you should understand Japanese people. The war did not happen between Japan and the United States when the United States kept exporting oil to Japan.

  • 大和魂

  • @oldmtnfart

    that is scary.

my aunt was at the world trade center on 9 11

sorta the same story as ur dad

  • @spideyownz i hope you aunt was one of the survivors.

  • @oldmtnfart

yea she was. she saw everything

  • @oldmtnfart he was. cool. my grandpa was in the army in Europe. glad he didn't have to face the japs. japanese back then are very freaky. using kamikazes and suicide tp fight us.

  • People need to understand that Hajis blowing themselves up is totally different than what these pilots did

  • @NoJokes11B no its really not, its still suicide. the only difference is soldiers are doing it in the case of the Japanese and they are attacking other military, the terrorists are attacking civilians, but they also target military. In Lebanon, members of Hezbollah sacrified themselves to blow up an American barracks as well as a French commando barracks. its not that different when you think about it carefully.....

  • @RyZombie619 The actions are the same but dying for a religious belief and dying for a country is totally different

  • @NoJokes11B well it depends on who you are talking about. if you are talking about al qaeda, then yes, it is about religion, but it goes beyond that. if you are talking about hezbollah and hamas, its more about country. so its really not that different.

  • @RyZombie619 Please explain how it "...goes beyond that'. I think putting Islamic extremists as the same as Japanese pilots who were Tokkou is a slap in the face to them

  • @NoJokes11B well hezbollah and hamas? they arent fighting for religious views, they are fighting for their country, that is the difference between them and al qaeda. Al Qaeda is not like the Kamikazes were, Hezbollah and Hamas are more like that, but yes, not really the same.

  • So Condoleezza Rice and George Bush say they could've never imagined planes being used as missles. I guess they both forgot about the small matter of world war 2 and it's Kamikaze pilots.

  • is this vid part of a documantry? if so could someone tell me wich one? Thx!

  • awesome thats the way to do it

Japenese the creators of suicide bombing :D

Even arabs cant do it what well

  • Are Japenese the creators of suicide bombing :D? No,the first suicide bombing pilot was an American pilot ! At WW2, Japan attacked Week ilands of USA , Japan did not use planes , and US Navy planes attacked to japanese ships ,finally US pilot did the suicide bombing . It was a brave and respectable .

  • @samirayan - yeah, i suppose the japanese kamikazes were the ones who taught the arabs how to hijack aeroplanes into man built structures.

  • @mjay22 ?????????? What's the connection?

  • would love to see USA try to start a war with China the worlds largets airforce would have so much fun with USA

imagine all those potential kamikaze pilots lol

  • chinese pilots suck name one famous gook pilot? American airforce and navy pilots would sweep those incompetant slant eyes from sky.

  • @samirayan You must be pretty stupid. If the USA and China ever went to war, the entire world would be destroyed. Full nuclear commitment.

Global Thermal Nuclear Warfare dude...Half of us would be dead before we even knew we were at war.

  • @Vroktar2009 US and China have allready gone to war and there was no Global Thermal Nuclear War

  • @melgibsonsballs agreed. It's a geopolitcal/socio-economic war. It's about an artificially priced currency, as well as a buying up of US T-bills. It's the pawning of American future financial power and control over to the highest bidder. There are no rules in the playground of global politics. The US would do well to remember that the one with the most power still wins in this new age pussified world.

  • @samirayan Umm... The USAF IS the world's largest air force. It's also the most advanced.

Don't be a noob on the internet. The whole world is watching.

  • good stuff mate

  • Amazing historical footage.
