hey ddashwood good video to bad there's not more around.I used to have an engineering book published in 1940 that had photos of them building the cannal and the great western railway tunnel (the bule ghost, if you want to) but someone stold it in a baeakin.
Actually, while they mention the building of the 3rd canal in this clip, this is actually the 4th (present) canal during the 1rst phase of construction, ca. 1912 (The canal const. would be halted from 1915-19 because of WW1).....the 3rd canal was built from 1873 until 1887 when the then new Aqueduct at Welland (My home town) was completed; about 10 years before moving picture (movie) film was invented.
