my grey HATES it when i get upset. it really affects them. Im in lots of pain and sometimes when he does catch me shedding the odd tear or two, he will sit on my shoulder and lick them away. I try and hide it from him, and he will even scream at me if he hears the 'faintest sound' of Mummy upset. They are very sensitive to the loved ones being unhappy, bless them.

no you don't. it's a life style choice, not something to be taken lightly.

some things you want to consider:

can you deal with hours of screaming when these birds get into their mating years?

can you deal with unpredictable biting when they get into moods for no reason?

can you deal with their destructive nature and undying need to chew things (molding, furniture, drapes)?

can you vacuum the seed up from around their cage 2 to 3 times a day to prevent mice? (they like to throw things... far!)

yours sounds exactly like mine! I've seen a lot of U2 videos, but this is the first one that has the same-sounding voice as mine. Their laughs are even identical! It's hard not to laugh when they start laughing...especially when it seems like they know when to laugh.
