Ah, it also went by way too fast for me. I am a bit worried about the hag looking the way she does. Not very family friendly, and I do think they could have made her less demonic looking. Besides that, I love the brief scene with Caspian and Susan's horn-simply amazing. I am definetly looking forward to seeing that. Everything looks good!
but don´t you think that it´s rather good that the film isn´t exaclly like the film cause if it is we already know what´s gonna happen. But I do agree with you about susan it´s not her caracter.
I think the whole White Witch scene is sort of good in sort of a way to connect this film to the first one. but yeah in the book he immediately turns away from the idea and in this thing he's pretty much sucked in until as far as we know the last minute.
This story is already very connected to the first one. That's what the whole treasure chamber scene is all about. Much of the story even takes place at the Stone Table. There are references to LWW throughout the entire book. I would say that LWW and PC are more closeley connected than any other two books in the Chronicles.
From their point of view, yes. At least, that's my interpertation. Aslan doesn't look the same size to everyone.
But the issue is the same. In a book, it's easy to just type "Aslan, you're bigger." But in a movie, when you have to visualize that, the effect is not the same. The risk in having a giant Aslan in a movie is that he'll seem more like a creature a character. It might be especially weird when he talks to other characters next to him, and his mouth is huge.
I doesn't really say in each book 'Aslan is bigger than the last time'. It's just kind of implied from Prince Caspian. If Aslan is a good size in Prince Caspian, I wouldn't complain if they had him stay that size throughout the chronicles.
i think CHRISTIANgirl95 is taking Lewis' writing literally...which is rather deceitful to the mind! Lewis merely meant that Aslan was bigger as a reality--his character, their understanding of Who He Is has grown. they have not outgrown him (like many adults claim they've 'outgrown' their faith), because he is far bigger than anyone could ever, possible comprehend.
comment one- haha, that shot of susan makes me laugh. comment 2- yay caspain and the horn! comment 3- dont you remember, in the book, then lucy sees aslan again, he says "as you grow bigger, I grow bigger."
One of the things that really bothered me about TTT in the film was the fact they changed Faramir's plotline and had him bring Frodo/Sam to Osgiliath. It took me a while before I eventually warmed up to the idea. I think if Prince Caspian *does* end up going through the initial stages of the ritual, I don't think it'll be the end of the world... it just might make the ultimate rejection and destruction of Nikabrik/werewolf/hag that much more poignant.
Great review. I really appreciate your thoughts on views on Narnia and the films... good stuff. I would like to note that I'm a huge Narnia and LoTR fan. Even took two courses specifically devoted to CoN and LoTR.
I love you glumpuddle!!! With every major media news release or development on Narnia I can always count on watching your analysis video of it on youtube...you da MAN!!!
That still of Caspian is soooo amazing. I can just imagine it being one of those really memorable and as you said, magical, scenes in the movie. I can believe the days left are almost in the double digits!
I'm not sure what I'll do for VDT, if anything. But either way, what I really want is for other people to start Narnia blogs too. It would be so much fun if a 4 or 5 people had one!
there is kind of a reason why it calls trufflehunter, nikarbrik, and trumpkin because the horn will attract help from where ever you are

yes but in the book it describes how aslan is to lucy so for us to visualize the effect they would have to make aslan the size according to lucy.

That part with Caspian blowing the horn has to be my favourite, I spotted that right away and fell in love with that part from the short trailer!
I can't wait for the movie.
