ooooh i see what u mean =o. i was in the newspaper.. about a competition my friend held. also they had 1 where a dude makes like rubix cube art. makes like the famous pictures like the mona lisa.. its kewl
wait he probably took some small mirrors and put them in the center areas because if you look carefully through the center on the other side you should see his hand but instead you see nothing or it could be magnetic
Each piece "holds on" to the one next to it. thats the easiest way to explain it i guess. there are no magnets in here. magnets really are a sub-par method of puzzle making, and hardly ever used. unless the puzzle is specifically a magnetic one (example: dice puzzles)
Because it isn't an opinion, it's simply incorrect. Also, I don't see you building one of these anytime soon. It's quite an engineering feat that Lee Tutt was able to build it.
just because the centers aren't there, doesn't mean you can ignore them. its like making all the centers on a 3x3 the same color, you still need to orient the edges around the right centers, or you'll run into parity.
I can see the relation between this and the void cube, since the Megaminx and 3x3 have the same mechanism, but I don't unstand how this or the Void cube works. Awesome job!

My guess is that he took out the pieces from a megaminx and built it again, except without the core/centers.

now that there is a void cube and a void minx, i think someone should make a void siamese cube!
ben1996123 3 years ago
no there should be a void 5x5 cube
whauk 3 years ago
that wouldnt be possible though. think what would happen when you turned a middle layer. the pieces would come off.
ben1996123 3 years ago
why? you can just drill a hole through the cross and make it as big as the whole center piece with some modifications.
i didnt think of making the 9 innner centerpieces disappear
whauk 3 years ago
that would be possible.

how the hell does that turn?
simonGH3 3 years ago 4
ball barings and stuff like that
xxcurnuxx 3 years ago 6
like c0rv377 said. It probably just pieces sliding on rails around each other.
mafiaboy797 3 years ago 3
How about naming it the Voidminx?
aacckkmmee 3 years ago 2
I like that Idea!
InfinitiM13 3 years ago 5
brilliant!
KaiXevandStanley 3 years ago 2
It's probably just like the Void Cube, with a circular track/railing that the pieces slide along. Why must we make this so complex?
c0rv377 3 years ago
it's not magnetic, perhaps all the pieces hook on each other so it doesnt collaspe
Bpiav 3 years ago
i agree, i believe it uses the same basic mechanics of the void cube, which im pretty sure simply runs along grooves in the pieces
MacManRay 3 years ago 2
wait he probably took some small mirrors and put them in the center areas because if you look carefully through the center on the other side you should see his hand but instead you see nothing or it could be magnetic
appler95 3 years ago
look closer. You can see his hands.
LanceTheBlueKnight 3 years ago 2
Wow it's amazing how you managed to make it hollow!
Colkadome14 3 years ago
yeah! its either a hollow core, or magnetic.

its NOT magnetic

titan0600 3 years ago
i think there is a track where the paices hook on to
arcrobe 3 years ago
that is amazing that you could keep them all together without a core, very nice.
xyfaer 3 years ago
It probably works like an electric train. There is a rail of magnets on the pieces. Or maybe im just wrong
ArymeZWretched 3 years ago
how does it even work lol there isnt anything for the pieces to spin on
rubikshalo3 3 years ago
idk it probably has latches that hook onto the pieces or something
rubixcubix96 3 years ago
yeah something like that

I dunno. That makes it less challenging than it's supposed to be... But I bet you solve it exactly like a pyraminx crystal.
Re1Mu2R3 3 years ago
i bet you dont
AvenueCube 3 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
Look it has 5 corner pieces, 5 edge pieces and no center piece per side. Exactly like the pyraminx crystal.
I think I'll make one of these from a chinese megaminx since the pyraminx crystal is too expensive!
Re1Mu2R3 3 years ago
the pyraminx crystal turns more than 5 edge and 5 corner pieces, it turns the "second" layer of edges too
AvenueCube 3 years ago 4
just because the centers aren't there, doesn't mean you can ignore them. its like making all the centers on a 3x3 the same color, you still need to orient the edges around the right centers, or you'll run into parity.
