  • WANNA PUSH ALL THE BUTTONS!

  • this is my dream!!

  • @TowManSKS Thats what she said. LOL

  • i also took off in the cockpit of a c-17 in kuwait. nice piece of kit

  • So... MANY BUTTONS!!! :D

  • @lorf151 look inside a 747 cockpit, there are way more buttons

  • @yoyoyoyoshua Ohhh more excitement :D

  • @lorf151 yep :D

  • People I'm not in the Air Force but here's some basic stuff, to be an Air Force pilot you need to have 20/20 Eye vision(perfect eye condition), you need to have a GPA of 2.5 , you need to pass several tests, medical and technical , you have to be in a certain weight along with your height , more questions contact me

  • @GtaCd321 This is a stupid question but is the GPA requirement for high school or college?

  • @sshea1222 No stupid questions here, every question counts,Colleges and universities have individual application requirements. Some list their minimum requirements for college-bound students.

  • @GtaCd321 Sorry but not for college but to become a pilot does the GPA have to be 2.5 from highschool or college

  • @sshea1222 At least on high school but if you want to keep going up on ranks you at least have to have a bachelor degree.

  • @GtaCd321 you also have to have a 4 year degree

  • @yoyoyoyoshua exactly

  • Ali Al Salem?

  • proof that cellphones are OK in the cockpit (jk)

  • C-17's rule. Former Crew Chief, Charleston Air Force Base, South Carolina 1996 - 2000. 437 Airlift Wing. Old school days.

  • actualy, laser eye surgery isnt signd off yet in FAA and JAA medicals, so they wont allow it. thats your fastest way of blowing your chances if you do want to fly. Medicals are + / - 6 dioptres in eye sight, and some airliners, are stricter when it comes down to it, eg BA has +/3 dioptres for entry level pilots.

  • I am planning to join the Air Force as soon as I finish my degree which is next year. I plan to be a pilot for the Air Force and want to fly the C 17.

  • @evilmontezuma87 Good luck to you, don't give up on your dreams. Getting selected for a officer slot after getting your degree is very hard if you don't do ROTC or the Academy, and it is even harder to get that pilot slot. If you get it, get ready for a full year of intense training with long hours. Good luck to you!

  • @AFSigEp26 Thank You, any tips on me getting into the career? I have 60 hrs of flight experience and close on getting my private pilots with a dual major degree. I plan to do the Officer training program that most people go thru.

  • @evilmontezuma87 I don't really have many tips for you on going through OTS as I went through ROTC while in college to get my slot. I would just check out the Air Force website and look for OTS (Officer Training School) and go that way. If you talked to a recruiter about it they would not give you good info most likely.

  • @AFSigEp26 That's what I'm going to do follow your foot steps to see if I can get my slot as a pilot, Im going to cross my fingers. I have a big passion for aviation and its my dream to be a pilot

  • @KingMe5000 u know they won't tell you but if they did u would be dead

  • yeahs its always a secret in the end

  • @midlandflyguy Aha.

  • ¿How much is take off speed, 350 Km/h?. Just curious.

  • @raulox71 Depends on Airframe and Weight.. the C-17A with no cargo and minimum fuel can rotate at ~115knots. Which is actually quite slow.

  • @KeiYuuki2011 Aha, ok.

  • Dear All,

I have some questions about psychology:

    (1) Why do we love flying?

    (2) Why do we like to build big jet?

    (3) If you are given a retired C5 to be your home, how will you re-design it to make it a comfortable home for yopurself? (eg. add a swimming pool, a wing garden...etc)

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

  • @applesweeter

    1) In my opinion, its because 'flying' could be considered as an un-natural thing, we were not born with wings.

    2) large aircraft again in my opinion are like the muscle cars of the sky, big, bulky and with huge engines, it may appeal to some more then others like myself

    3) I'd probably strip the interior and make it so it has 2 floors, then make it so its kinda indentical to home! bedrooms on top, living rooms on bottom, a pool on top of the airframe, add bits here and there =)

  • @Haydinho21

I likeswimming pool, too. How about a garden/balcony on the wing?

  • @applesweeter yeahh, i'd probably have like, wooden decking with table and chairs on one wing. Then on the other a grass area with a big ass BBQ lol

  • what do you do if you fart alot....i got this problem? I can stick up a small place very quickly.

  • I'm not sure if an airforce pilot can, but average airline pilots can use glasses in order to get their 20/20 eye vision. This applies for general aviation also. Surgery is not the only option! (In general aviation).

  • God forbid if hit by aa and the plane is going down theres no way of escape right? probably the load masters could

  • That was awesome -- thanks for uploading a video definitely worth watching.

  • looks like they are not inthe near end ofthe threshold

  • asault take off? looks like they are in the threshold

  • I have a model of the C-17 I am waiting for someone to make a Large scale model of the c-17.

  • ¿Is it truth that the most comertial plane pilots was former military pilots?.

  • @raulox71 True, who better to hire for comercial flights then ex-military pilots who have the experience!

  • @Haydinho21 That´s right. Ex-military pilots have experiences and a kind of pilot that a normal-comertial pilot don´t have. I think.

  • @Haydinho21 With other words, ex-military pilots are better cualified and trained. Its my opinion.

  • @raulox71 couldn't agree more, im a Mechanic/Technician in the RAF, working with Pilots near everyday who fly, a solid 9+ years of constant flying, which is a good enough reason for them to be taken on lol"

  • @Haydinho21 Of course :-)

  • I am very familiar with Kuwait.. spent a it of time there during Desert Fox. Good Video!

  • sounds like a C5

  • @hotcornernoprob

    lol.. not even close.... lol

    youtube.com/watch?v=A5pojoZwYnI

  • man i hate the wap

  • I would quite like to have sex with this aircraft please!! I want to fly it when im older =)

  • Have the C-17s always had the flight control sticks or did they transition from traditional control yokes to the flight control sticks over time? Just curious. My father worked for McDonnell-Douglas back before Boeing took them over & the C-17 was one of their last, great developments. Hopefully, Congress will continue to approve construction of additional C-17s in the years to come as it really is a good military cargo aircraft.

  • How many years of training is it to be a pilot of one of these?

  • i fly KC135's

  • Este video é legal

  • i wan to fly them?army?air force? i wan that job.

  • The Air Force uses C-17's, so if you want to fly them, that would be the branch to go to. I plan on flying those, myself.

  • do yu have to have a 20/20 eye vision to be in the air force?

  • No. To fly aircraft? Yes! But there are ways around it such as laser eye surgery.

  • @shadows10p You can have yours eyes corrected by laser like Timsierramist said. Ive talked to a recuiter about this, he said once you have the surgery after or before training i cant remember, he said you have to wait a year to requalify to make sure your eyesight didnt get jacked up more. or since you had the surgery. This is what i want to do in the AF, I want to be a fighter pilot or C17/C130 pilot

  • @Timsierramist or glasses:P. p.s how did you get to be a pilot in the AF did you get something in college for education?

  • @poskyflyer You need to have a university degree to become an airforce pilot.

  • @Timsierramist

That is completely incorrect. See my post responding to shadows10p.

Please do not answer quesitons like this unless you know for sure. You can very easily shoot down peoples dreams with false info.

  • @Timsierramist actruly you can get a waiver were if you wear glasses and have 20/20 with them on you can fly.

  • @Timsierramist man. i have 20/20 and im starting flight skewl at the municipal airport by my house next summer, i want to be a commercial pilot too. Should i join the air force and become a pilot in that first.. would it help

  • @Timsierramist ahahahaha

  • @Timsierramist You don't need 20/20 to fly an aircraft either. There are plenty of people out there who are pilots in the USAF that don't have 20/20.

  • @Timsierramist Wish there was laser eye surgery in 1990... I wanted to be a pilot!!

  • @Timsierramist And glasses

  • @shadows10p lol less than 2% of the AF are pilots. But yes, definitely ways around the vision requirements

  • @shadows10p

NO...you do not. It is a common misconception by people that are not AF pilots that you do. You need at least 20/70 natural vision, correctable to 20/20 with contacts or glasses (yes you can fly with contacts or glasses). However if you get eye surgery you need to have 20/20 after the surgery.

  • @shadows10p Corrected to 20/20 yes. 20/40 uncorrected though, yes. If you get any surgery outside of the USAF there has to be a waiver signed to get it approved.

  • @shadows10p no

  • @shadows10p good physically fit, and REALLY good grades.

  • @shadows10p nope

  • @shadows10p To be a pilot you must have 20/40 vision uncorrected but need to have 20/20 corrected. Which is why you sometimes see older pilots wear little reading glasses

  • how did u film that

  • We had just landed commercial Air (Omni Air International DC-10) a few days prior in Kuwait, and now we were on our way to Al Taqqadum Air Base in Iraq. The pilots offered the jumpseat to 2 Marines, and my Lieutenant offered me the spot since I was practically obsessed with aviation and wanted to be an Airline Pilot upon leaving the services. So, up I went.

  • @Timsierramist, you lucky sod

  • @Timsierramist Good job thanx

  • thx

  • by eany chance how much do the pilots get payed?

  • Pilots get paid by their military rank like all other personnel. They also get a few bonuses such as hazardous duty pay, combat pay while in Iraq, and maybe a couple of others, so they typically are paid more than their fellow officers of the same rank. Look up a military pay grade to find out. Most air force pilots have the rank of captain or major.

  • thx

  • Flight pay is also a pay, whether your in Iraq or not. The reason most pilots are a Captain or a Major is because flight school takes several years and the 2nd and 1st Lieutenants usually pick up O-3 by the time they get out of training.

  • Flight Training (SUPT) takes exactly 52 weeks. Most graduates are just pinning on 1st Lt bars when they get their wings.

  • It goes more by Pay-grade. Rank, in other words.

  • yeah absolutely awesome...

would love to have a flight in on o' those some day ^^

  • damn.. listen to that power!
