  • @ClairePeaston WHAT do you mean CANCELLED?

    IT`S THIS a joke?

  • @SAWtabl3 I so wish it was a joke, but alas no. The show has really been cancelled :(

  • OK, that cop in the background in the photo at 4:56 looks weird!

  • @singextremelyloud I was about to joke that, "oh look it's Dexter, he's going to go after Lightman"

  • I've found the METT + SETT pack (microexpression training tool) which is used in the series :P it costs 60euro or something but if you want it PM me and ill send you a link

  • @sladedemon you can find it on Paul Ekman's website. He's the guy behind of Lie to me. It's based on him.

  • 4:51 o melhor momento do vídeo.

I made a video of my favorite Locker moment , a funny one ;)

  • I have no idea what he just said... ;)

  • My God I swear every time he appears on screen I get butterflies!! I think I'm in love with you Brendan!! Seriously fucked up situation....................

  • He definetely plays himself in the show^^

  • I LOVE HIM!! hes hot!

  • i love him and his Radical Honesty)it's soo cute)

  • The problem with all of this is that people start seeing more into things than may really be there. Some one touching their nose could just be as simple as that. One should look at the entire context surrounding a given movement or expression. Don't forget that Ekman spent over 50 years studying this...........

  • just looove when he raises his eyebrow

  • just love when he raises his eyebrows :)

  • handsome guy.

  • Good Actor, very witty...

  • I'm so happy that they're showing this serial in germany :)

  • Hi!

I really laughed at the fact that Hines says Kelli Williams did the same gesture Obama did to McCain in a show... is this video on Youtube? I've tried searching for it but I've found nothing :(

  • He's hot!!!

  • cute guy. boring interview!

  • He could be a perfect Dylan Dog.

  • Anyone know a website were i can watch this show for free? (im from Norway...)

  • 2:36 manipulator, just after they explain it almost

  • he seemed to be lying

    1. touching his face 2:34

    2.squinting eyes 2:23

  • You can't believe those rules so strictly, when people are nervous they touch their face, and I believe that is why they do it when they lie, because they are nervous. But it doesn't always mean you are lying.

  • @petrakrosl yeah! i never did that while lying

  • maybe he has a bad ich xD

  • 0:21 fake smile much? =p

  • @FamilyGuyRS

Actually, look at his eye... it is a genuine smile... :D

  • When ever somebody brags about being good at spotting lies that usually means they can't really spot them.

  • +1

    You are absolutely correct sir.

  • Love Foster!!!!!!

  • xD

I love how everyone thinks their Lightman. It's funny.

    :D

  • im a lightman trainee

  • I love him so much. I think he's the reason I love this show so much.

  • Not being nasty, doesn't he look like a ventriloquist dummy? As I say, Im not being nasty. Love Lie to Me, love his acting.

  • My God he's adorable. He's getting more and more attractive every week.

  • @IWasHereMomentsAgo It's true

  • è troppo bello :D

  • just enjoy the interview, none of you people are lightman, so stop it

  • ¿Brendan tiene página oficial suya?

Alguien sabe sie tiene mas canciones en youtube, además de "Miss New York"?

  • si, en myspace...

  • People are so pathetic... They watch a season of Lie to Me, and suddenly think they're a walking lie detector.

    Loker's cool :)

  • Oh, well. Whatever makes you feel smart, I guess. Some of the micro expressions (if not all of them) are real though. I did catch a teacher repeatedly touching his neck though when he was talking to mine and right after he left, I told my teacher about the show and he told me that the other teacher WAS lying and that they do this every week. lol

I also love Loker. He is one of my favorites. He's one of those people who you hope will find a girlfriend, but that you know he probably won't. :'(

  • at least not for a while. ;)

  • Oh no, I have no doubt whatsoever that micro expressions are real :)

In fact I can't help but look for them in people's conversations and all...

    This show is the best.

  • Agreed. I loved last night's episode! I listened to "White Lie" on YouTube 6 or 7 times afterward. ^_^ Loker is just so dang cute!

  • i actually saw one and trusted it and now im not out 150 dollars ^_^

  • Yeah they're definitely real - I've done so much research into them, I've brought Ekmans books etc.. since I started watching this show, I've also got his Micro-Expression Training Tool, I'm constantly seeing people lieing to each other, its kinda cool actually. My mum gets paranoid around me now and knows she cant lie around me. If I had more confidence I'd but into peoples conversations and say that that person has just lied, but sadly, I dont.

  • Lying is normal for most people. Pointing every little lie out can lose you credibility as a friend. Sometimes it is just obvious that people are lying. I have a knack for spotting it myself, but I never say anything because I know that without the ability to lie, life is kinda miserable for some.

  • Very true, usually I can see when my girlfriend lies about something and I never pull her on it because otherwise as you say i'd lose credibility.

I do like being able to think to myself that they're talking crap though lol

  • lol

She probably knows you know sometimes. I think some people just like to feel sneaky though.

  • Yeah, Same here. I would like to tell my friends there lieing but then they would just think im a freak. I got my friend ryan 1 good time, We had plans one doy and he canceld them. Saying that he had plans with his mom. I asked him what he was doing, He explained. And than i told him to tell it to me backwards and than he tried, But he stutturd alot and than i said your lieing. I dont think were friends anymore >_> But a win on my part. Agree? :)

  • Haha definitely a win on your part. On the rare occasion I do pull someone up for lieing (I usually only do it if its a completely stupid and pointless lie) then its always nice to see then show a little anger expression haha

  • @CalvinCombo no you vagina, you lost a friend, lol. he was being polite and you shouldve just let it be. you dont gain anything idk, i feel sorry for what you essentially did to urself. BUT another thought, the true art of lie detecting in the social place is doing so seemlessly without suspicion. they wont be afraid of being disbelieved and wont show conteptiousness.

  • ahaha, I started looking into lie detection and stuff in year 11, spent a semester studying body language and micro expressions, etc.

It is good to be able to see when someones lying, but like in the show, don't interfere with other peoples lives. If you see someone lie to someone else, let them find out for themselves, sometimes even the strongest relationships have secrets.

  • me too! exept im not that good at it xD i just started :)

  • @TheGuider

I can't help it! It's so fun to see people get annoyed when they say something and I respond saying "Oh, you're lying, yeah look at the way your mouth moved as you spoke. And then your eyes did something. I saw it."

Oddly enough, there have actually been a few times where people just went "How did you know I was lying?!" after I did that, so it can be a good thing too! :)

  • @ShaneMcClyroFlynn Agreed :) Must say that I did it several times as well ^^

  • @ShaneMcClyroFlynn

I know!! Because after you watch it, you notice it. It's a real science! Look it up! There's a book on it!!! I'm getting it soon :D

  • @TheGuider admit you're the same.

  • @Joylevinstein Trying not to be...

  • @TheGuider I certainly try. It's fun, but I'm usually wrong. The show doesn't give us a lot to go on. Fave eppies? Mine are "Grievous Bodily Harm" (Loker's best moment when he breaks the door down) and "Black Friday" (Cal has his moments, too). Loker's my favorite.

  • @TheGuider :)))))

  • @TheGuider Not me im just learning and trying to do it tests said i was a natural

  • @TheGuider Well but you CAN think you have basic knowledge about lying when you do METT or SETT

  • L.O.L Some people are naturalist on things like this. He is telling the truth on most of the time.

The only thing I can infer on this is that he hate KELLY. HEHEHEHEHEHE

    Its obvious....

He is not willing to grant the accident.

I agree with him, watching the show makes me put it in real life.

    L.O.L

  • He's so cute! love him <3

oh my god people! are you analizing the guy? come on!

it doesnt matter if the guy is lying!

  • Amo a este chico, es hermoso y tiene carita de ángel

  • es muy sexy, is really hot *¬*

  • when someone strokes side of nose or their chin it means their thinking or making a decision along with the forehead thing it was slow and not quick again thinking.

maybe....he's just thinking of what to say because it's an interview lol.

  • maybe his forehead was just itchy

  • Just because someone indicates something you saw on the show doesnt mean they're lying, lol - at 1.41 he's just displaying new emotions - he's talking about exposure, so i guess he's thinking about a time when he might have been cought out, or there is fear at being surrounded by these people who are always reading him. To be fair, it's an interview - its not normal conversation and he is bound to be anxious and thinking harder about his words and construction - chill dudes! x

  • Berdolan - your right. at 1:41 he was lying plus at 2:34 he's lying again

i think he's lying about what they do on the set. i think that he dosen't take in what's happening him on the set OR he's forgetton...

  • i'm studiying micro-expressions

an at 1:41 he's lying but i can't slow the vid down so i don't know what it exactly is

and like saiert allready said scratching scratching your nose is being unsure, but scratching your forehead doesn't have to always mean anything but if it does, it means he doesn't know what to say

  • im going to say this so dont get upset i think your fucking dumb

  • i'm guessing you're talkin to yourself in the mirror

so, keep on taking those pills before you completly lose it (if you haven't already) ;)

  • He's thinking of what to say at 1:41, he isn't lying. What would he by lying about? Behavioral analysis needs ANALYSIS along with studying behavior. WHAT would he by lying about? He's not lying about anything, because he hasn't said anything to lie about. He's unsure of what to say, that's why he's taking his time (to choose his words), thats why his eyes are shifting, to think of what to say. It's an off-the-cuff interview.

  • how are you studiying them on a web site or what ....help me..plz

  • There is no sign of deception at that pointed time ( 1,41)

He's just trying to construct what he is going to say. If you look at his shoulders he kinda lifts them up and down real fast when he has the word on his tounge.

  • shoulders, who said anything about shoulders??

remember micro expressions last for about 1/25 of a second

i'm talking about the facial exressions

eyes wide open, head going forward, etc.

but like i said i can't wlow the vid down, not enough frames.

so i don't know what it exactly is

P.S. look very carfully at the fase in HD

  • Are you taking a class on micro-expressions or is it a specialization? Im very interested in this as well.

  • Comment removed

  • scratched his nose and his forehead. hehe during the interview. is brendand unsure about what he is saying?

  • I think he is simply trying to find the right words and try to recall.

  • Yes. Even though their assumptions about body language on the show is right most of the time, I don't think you can actually apply all of it in real life. So I might have jumped to a conclusion here. But yeah: I do tend to get hung up about body language a lot more now after watching this show. I don't think it's healthy though. Most of the times it don't mean much.

  • Remember that this is a show and some stuff are either exaggerated or hurried, although the principles are mentioned there, you have to remember it is not a documentary or a training movie.

The establishment of a baseline behavior is fundamental to interpret correctly the gestures. The most accurate episode is the first one and the closest to the research of Paul Ekman.
