A CBR 600 is not a great bike for a beginner, or even a good one for a beginner.
Try a Ninja 250 or perhaps a 500.
That said, 50 MPH is the same on any bike, regardless of top speed. The danger comes in when you have a bike that can call upon that power too fast, or has too much power for a new rider, and that new rider is tempted to use it, thus becoming a s.q.u.i.d
Loving Ruby I have same bike and live in the UK she can sit on mine any time.

depending on where you live i wouldnt go with a 250
the 500 is the beginner bike and the one i would personally advise you to start with
