I've observed this too! Your "market value" definitely increases if you are seen with an attractive girl or if it is known that an attractive girl is interested in you. This causes you to get even more girls! It's like a self-fulfilling prophecy. I believe that this happens because many women antagonize in physical attractiveness much more than men. They need to know that they can get as many guys as possible (and especially the ones that their "friends" are interested in).
Now that i know better i never worry when i see that because i know that the guy is an afc. And the girls who fall for that are "afc" too. Best strategy: go alone, go prepared and do your best
and on the other there's me - i never pick up girls, not anymore. now i go, get out and have fun. and i end up with girls. try having fun once in a while :D
Or get out of the noisy real world and into an enclosed room. Playing up the Everyman Card by walking the streets isn't necessary when trying to relay information (such as it is).
