@voltrumiks dude, first of all I'm aware of what lyrical hip hop so I don't need to be educated on genres and 2nd, if you watch the whole video you would have notice that the first half is lyrical jazz and the 2nd half of the number was hip hop free style. It sounds to me you think lyrical only derives in hip hop when it originally came from jazz and ballet. There's a reason why the title says lyrical/hiphop and not lyrical hiphop.
if this is your bestfriend, please tell him i was inspired by him and i thought he was amazing through out the whole season! he inspired me through his work and his inspirational words. Amazed that he can do all the kinds of dances and it made me want to try dancing for a change. First time watching SYTYCD season and never been truly grabbed by a performer like him and his partner Melanie. :D He is one legit dancer!
@B919ANA haha sorry its been a long time since I posted this video up and I never bothered to make corrections. It was open category number because he does lyrical in the Beginning and then towards the end he freestyles. Hope this would clarify everything :)
You're a great technical dancer, but I still don't understand how this is lyrical hip hop. Lyrical hip hop is supposed to a be a fusion of the two styles, but you just split them up--it was like two completely different dances. The second part actually looks more like lyrical hip hop than the first part.. You could've just done the second part as lyrical hip hop, and the first part as a separate lyrical dance. :) Jus' sayin
@mitzi654 whoa... hence the reason why I said its Lyrical hip hop cuz its starts off with lyrical and ends with a hip hop free style. and fyi its called lyrical not ballet. It has technique like ballet with some jazz too. goes to show you dont know much.

uh... is this supposed to be hip hop? I mean, there's only a bit of hip hop in this. It's more like a ballet exhibition or something

tedtage 3 years ago
no crap bro, that's why its called LYRICAL Hip Hop.
Meaning this is a LYRICAL jazz with Hip hop in it especially towards the end.
Hip Hop is not only to Fast Beats it can be danced to slow music as well. which is why Its called LYRICAL because LYRICAL incorporates slow music.
gwapogi111 3 years ago 8
mmh at the beggining, i i think, it's still more lyrical jazz than lyrical hiphop, but in the end...
i think the mixture is weeeell done:P
