  • 2D animation forever!! ~

  • Were all of these made using Toon Boom Harmony? It's just that I know that's what Disney uses.

  • This just inspired me my parents got me this for my birthday and iv been to lazy to work this anyone know any good tutorials to make animations look good like this? (i dont mind if they cost anything) it's worth it!

  • @wazburg Adam Philips(username here is Chluiad) has some awesome video tutorials for this program and will soon be offering fx animation courses for $24 a month on his site biteycastle. com :)

  • i can do stewies voice i am good at it :)

  • @ArcticVideos It's $200

  • @ArcticVideos Over $1000

  • @awesomeshadow Please specify which Toon Boom product you are referring to. The best is to contact Philip Greenstein at Toon Boom.

  • @ToonBoomAnimation toon boom animate

  • @awesomeshadow We just had a 50% off sale on all our products. Hope you took advantage of it as Animate was at $350

  • @ToonBoomAnimation i just had a jawdrop seeing this video. im serious. but i have a question! :^D

some of these animations are still hand-draw keyframes (some in the old way, the paper, and others drawed in the program, and i assume there are many brushes styles like simulating crayons or whatever...), but i found videos just teaching bones and "paper-cut style" animation. how can I use in the old way, and still utilize the new features?

thanks for the support! please see my videos! :^P

  • @ManelRuivo Toon Boom's professional products enable you to create any style of animation. If you prefer traditional methods, you can scan in your drawings and maximize the use of technology to clean up, color, animate, do your compositing and apply special effects, all within one single software.

  • @ToonBoomAnimation I saw something about my scanner needing TWAIN capabilities. If I my scanner lacks this feature/driver, will I still be able to edit and add movement to scanned images?

  • @Kasen717 TWAIN support is important for the scanning to work.

  • @ToonBoomAnimation Thank you. :-)

  • Can anyone please give me a rundown of the pros and cons of Anime Studio VS Toon Boom?

  • @Talz1803 One huge downside of Anime Studio to me is that you can't properly import Illustrator files (has to be an ANCIENT illustrator format AND will just stop importing if there's too many points/paths in your file). I mean, I like to draw my characters beforehand, "design" them first. Being able to import paths and layers from other programs is a big pro in my book. Drawing in Anime Studio was also really frustrating to me...

  • this is a great example of a business using youtube to its full potential! great job toonboom! :)

  • This is really impressive how many more mainstream cartoons are animated in toon boom than flash.

  • whaat?...the 3d dragon at 1:30

toon boom can't have animated that one...:d

  • @menotspeakenglish Harmony handles the combination of 2D and 3D assets very well. This excerpt serves to illustrate that point.

  • and the Dragon Hunters ?? Wow...

  • Wow, I've seen some of these cartoons before ._.

  • @PSGamerX The feature film, yes :)

  • what cartoons were at 2:29 and 2:34

  • I recently joined Toon boom after strong recommendations on XNA creators club. I'm currently making a puzzle game for xbox and I do have some Animation Talent I so i bought the program and I am very happy, I have the studio version though

  • @Thonydef Thanks for the great feedback. Make sure to keep us posted when your game is completed.

  • I'm sooooooooooooooooooooo getting this when i get a job! :D Unfortunately not many places are offering jobs for 14 year olds... :'(

  • I love using toon boom, but my concern is the fact that the PLE stuff I make can't be opened in the full version of animator... So essentially, all of the work I've done will have to be RE-done... regardless, it's awesome. (even if I get no pressure sensitivity...)

  • @TheMobiusMan We apologize for this inconvenience but please understand the PLE is meant for learning not production.

  • @ToonBoomAnimation I understand completely (It's a competitive field!) And it was mostly demo reel stuff, shouldn't be too hard to redo. Especially in a program this well designed!

  • wat is harmony??? and how come i cant donwload it from the toon boom website?????

  • @sddfs777 Harmony is an enterprise solution, not an off-the-shelf product. What kind of projects do you do?

  • @1234sanskar Dragonball Z were made in the 90's. i guess no digital work involved, they just handdrew every frame.

  • wow thats awesome I didnt know all those cartoons were done using toon boom. I'm gonna switch to it as soon as possible. (currently using flash)

  • @TheMoD1234 Let us know when you joined the Toon Boom family :)

  • @TheMoD1234 me too

  • Hey if lets say i draw something in paint or something like that can i bring that drawing into Toon Boom?

  • @Ayisiens It all depends which Toon Boom product you are referring to.

  • @ToonBoomAnimation oh.so some of them can do that?

  • Anybody know what program is used in South Park?

  • @pL0n They use Storyboard Pro for storyboarding and a 3D app for the animation.

  • the scene where stewie pisses into brian's face is censored on my dvd... you can only see brians face

  • toon boom making no talent hacks into cartoonists.

  • @BiGReDTrON01 shrinking what true artist have worked hard for years on into a noob friendly program

  • so thats the program that they use

  • first time i watched toon boom i didnt belive it was good, now i use and is the best program of animation, since pro to amateur or as a hobby. TOON BOOM FTW!

  • grossologey and spongebob?

  • @JackF1310 SpongeBob the movie and Grossology, yes!

  • @ComicWolf16 Thanks a lot! All clips were provided by Toon Boom customers.

  • This is all made in Toon Boom? Bah! Humbug!

  • The aimation process isn't as easy as just using toon boom. starts off with a script, storboards, x-sheets, audo, animatics, touch ups, animation and final product.

    Alot of work....

  • @BlobbyCartoons

That's why we got Google look up for tutorials and beside everyone can use ToonBoom you don't need to attend some fancy school for animation if you plan to use ToonBoom as a hobby its okay.

  • ive baught toon boom for 300 dolars and im currantly working on a little film that i am making called crhismas of a life time and its due out in 2010

  • you get a 2 cookies, 1 for you and 1 for a friend. (unless your greedy you can steal both)

  • Oh my god!!!

I need Toon boom now :D

It must be awesome to make cartoons and even publish them on Tv like these series! I'll buy Toon boom Studio, is it good or Toon boom animate is better?

  • @pianistmaster1 If you want the same Toon Boom product that Family Guy and The Simpson's were made with, I believe they used Toon Boom Digital pro, I think it's Animate pro now.. But Animate is better then Studio.

  • Dang i need to get this instead of regular old Adobe Flash CS4... lol :)

  • i use flash 8 i love it, i just got tb animate today so im exited

  • Are you serious?

Flash CS4 is has the same options and you can also program with it. If you can´t handle Flash you won´t be much better with toon boom.

  • King of the Hill (like Familly guys, The Simpsons and other the Fox showa) are drawn on paper. Toon Boom Harmony is used during the Scan, Clean, Ink and Paint and Compositing phases. Fox is also using Storyboard Pro since 2 years for the pre production phases.

King of the Hill was premiere first in 1997. Toon Boom TicTacToon and USAnimate software were released around 1994.

  • Does that mean for the simpsons each second is 24 drawings?

And its scanned on to the computer?

do they put the color on the pictures when on the computer?

  • No they mostly use already done symbols like arms legs and so and make them move around.

  • Storyboard is used during pre production (like blueprints), then the animation tools are used to produce the final materials.

  • our all of these shows animated by toon boom?!

  • Yes they are, mostly with the Pro products (Animate Pro / Harmony)

  • Are you sure the show producers used Toon Boom?

  • How come u used some of the same clips as the 2007 reel?

  • It's known as filler.

  • wow so many different styles! Did they do the simpsons movie with toonboom? I heard somewhere that they did :S and how much would toonboom studio cost? I'm interested in getting it

    thnx

    S

  • Most of animations in the demo reel are done using the Professional products (Animate, Digital Pro, Harmony). Toon Boom Studio is more a hobbyst application to learn and pratice animation than a studio production tool.

  • aah okay thats what i'm after - how much would it be to purchase?

  • so toon boom was made by this

  • Well, these were made using Toon Boom products :)

  • sorry i ment to say that... do you know the difference between ton boom harmony and toon boom digital pro because i have toon boom harmony toon boom storybored and toon boom studio and i just wanted to know

  • Harmony and Digital Pro offer almost the same feature set with one major difference. Harmony is a client-server base solution made for large scale studio and production facilities whereas Digital Pro is more meant for independent.

On top of that Harmony comes with dedicated tools for high-speed production scanner, render farm, batch processing, etc...

  • tanx you a god u just saved me big tyme for our game i thankk u alot :-)

  • A wonderful video, what it lacks, though, is names of the animations showcased - in some cases I'd really love to watch them, but don't know their names.

  • I just love Toon Boom, it is surely the best animation program that you could use!

  • any new shows?:P

  • well im impressed
