Ironically, Readick later played "Carl Phillips" (the doomed radio correspondent) in Welles' "MERCURY THEATER" radio production of "The War of the Worlds" in October 1938.
This ISN'T Orson Welles- this was actually a transcribed opening, heard during Welles' only season as "The Shadow" (first on Mutual for Blue Coal during 1937-'38, then on a syndicated edition for B.F. Goodrich in the summer of 1938). Orson was not able to master the "Shadow"'s sinister laugh for the opening and closing, so one was pre-recorded, featuring the previous "Shadow", Frank Readick.
also, i like this poster, its very indiana jones-ish. but the reason i liked the movie is the reason why many hated it, because it was a bit cheesy and old school. i liked that part of it, it felt alot like a movie from the 40's instead of the modern 90's.
@eiramana32 I don't know, hopefully it will be made soon and I have no idea who will play The Shadow. It's gonna be hard to top Alec Baldwins evil voice and laugh.
@xvxThexShadowxvx I agree! Whoever he'll be~ I hope he'll be greater than what I expected, Alec had been my crush because of his "The Shadow"/ Cranston role so, I am hoping for the best actor around. :)
@eiramana32 I remember first watching this on starz a couple years ago and when I read the description and saw that Alec Baldwin was playing a super hero I was like no way. I only saw him in 30 Rock and I couldn't picture him as a super hero but he did a fantastic job and was better than I expected. So I agree I hope who ever it is will be better than I expected.
@TheShadow772 thats very old outdated news. he may have been interested but nothing has come up in a few years now, so i would bet on it. plus, he had weird idea of the shadow not being one person but a group of people, which is nonsense.
