As a dancer myself, I find it extremely wrong be called an 'athlete' rather a 'dancer'.

@xyf888 why ballroom is both artistic and athletic, look at gymnastics, it takes art and balletic beauty along with power and athletic ability to be successful. Ballroom dancing should be an Olympic sport but because of the IOC's ignorance to dancing IDSF never gets recognized as a sport. Its a slap in the face. Ballroom dancing is much a sport, a study showed that ballroom latin dancers use more power than football players!

@ChuckGymFan Exactly - it's a slap in the face of WDSF. I believe no real dancers want to be called athletes - physical side is one thing, but dancing is nothing like soccer. You can't call it a sport just because it burns more calories. It's insulting to compare dancers to footballers.
