The right indicator was flashing on the convertible. The truck driver most likely assumed the convertible driver going to slow down or stop to turn, which would"ve made it safe for the truckie to go. The truckie should've waited to confirm the convertible driver was actually slowing before just going. And, unless the driver of the convertible was turning immediately after that intersection, having an indicator on approaching an intersection they weren't turning at, wasn't the best idea.
Congratulations alextact, After reviewing it further I've now noticed the indicator also and agree that the indicator should have been off if going straight ahead. No one had noticed that including me although I did post it when I was very tired. There is one other possibility though and that is that the convertible was changing from the left to right lane and then failed to turn it off. I personally would never turn until I saw the convertible turning
My thoughts exactly. He / she got some serious rocking action from chomping the brakes so hard on the truck on an angle. The guy in the green convertible didn't look impressed. He had a look of serious offense in fact.
It's been raining consistently all weekend in Atlanta. This tractor-trailer was swerving this afternoon. I slowed down and left a gap, because I wasn't sure if he was going to move over or not. He didn't, but swerved in behind a vehicle behind me.
When I viewed the video, the lights looked green on roadmonitoroz's approach and the truck's approach. Even if the lights were yellow or red, it's always good practice to wait and yield to through traffic.
But, I've almost turned before on yellow without making sure through traffic was going to stop. I didn't get in an accident, though.
Now, if I'm waiting to turn left in the intersection, I sit and wait until all traffic's stopped.
Almost did that myself once. 2 cars coming, closer one slowed down to stop, so i started to move out, but the further away car decided he wouldn't stop for the red (it was red when he entered the intersection by my reckoning). Missed him though, luckily.
Yeah. Never trust the other driver. Most people push the amber & then run the red.
I've learned not to expect everyone to obey the law and that indicators mean nothing. I don't trust them. I make sure I see them committing to the turn before I consider going. For that reason I'm still alive, only been in 1 injury accident (beyond my control & other guys fault)
Caution and being prepared for others stupidity has saved my life many times.
Yeah maybe. I'm also wondering if maybe the truck was on his cell phone too or some other sort of distraction. I've seen trucks bullying like that too. Would have got messy with serious injury if they would have crashed.
:31 the guy moves into the right lane with his left signal on...

Yeah. Hard to say. I'm just glad no crash occurred.

Looks like the lorry was trying to bully it's way through, the cars carried on going after it had turned right so maybe they weren't on a red.
