You are thinking of ionospheric heaters in general, of which there are indeed others. It is a scientific facility used to study the ionosphere, and the other ionospheric heaters are entirely different programs run by completely different people and countries. One other is the EISCAT facility in Norway.

No. For several reasons:
1. The last testing of a nuclear device in space was performed on november 4th 1962.
2. The resultant electromagnetic pulse (EMP) of these tests caused havoc on the limited fleet of sattelites in orbit around the earth at the time. An EMP today would lay devastation to a large portion of the armada of sattelites in use today.

These lights are caused by ionization of air molecules induced by electromagnetic field created by piezo-electric activity of rocks under extreme pressure. Actually, HAARP doesn't utilize microwaves, and it doesn't shoot like a gun - it transmits like a radio. So the gun analogy is not a good analogy. As for testing it out, HAARP has been operational since the 90's. Before that, other ionospheric heaters performed similar ionospheric research projects in different countries around the world.

The cause of the light refraction is the suns alignment (44º) above the cloud of plate shaped ice crystals that make up the cirrus cloud you see here.
The cloud then looks colored, because the light is coming from the cloud.
It's a Circumhorizontal arc and is caused by light passing through wispy, high-altitude cirrus clouds. The sight occurs only when the sun is very high in the sky (quake was at 2 P.M.).
When light enters through a vertical side face of such an ice crystal and leaves from the bottom face, it refracts, or bends, in the same way that light passes through a prism. If a cirrus's crystals are aligned just right, the whole cloud lights up in a spectrum of colors.

My husband is school teacher in SAlisbury, MD and was speaking to a parent who works for the networking and research department of Wallop's Island NASA center in VA. No, HAARP exists only in Alaska.
You are thinking of ionospheric heaters in general, of which there are indeed others. It is a scientific facility used to study the ionosphere, and the other ionospheric heaters are entirely different programs run by completely different people and countries. One other is the EISCAT facility in Norway.

No. For several reasons:
1. The last testing of a nuclear device in space was performed on november 4th 1962.
2. The resultant electromagnetic pulse (EMP) of these tests caused havoc on the limited fleet of sattelites in orbit around the earth at the time. An EMP today would lay devastation to a large portion of the armada of sattelites in use today.
3. Their visual effects are way different.

Yes. The sun does so on a daily basis, and this is what creates the ionosphere.
When HAARP and other ionospheric heaters does it, it's a small portion of the ionosphere, it's for very short and infrequent experiments, and it's at a fraction of the sun's effect. The effects of ionospheric heaters have been shown independently and repeatedly to be negligible, and to have vanished within a couple of minutes.

This is a type of rainbow (fire rainbow/circumhorizontal arc), the uppermost color is red, just like in a regular rainbow, indicating light refraction. For this phenomenon to occur, sun must at an elevation of 58° or more. Using online solar angular keisan (calculator), you can calculate that the elevation of the sun in Meixian, May 12th 2008 at around 14:20 CST (13:20 effectively) was about 67° elevated. There was also plate-shaped crystals in the haze, and this rare rainbow occured :-)

There is no connection to earthquakes, and NO - they haven't precluded earthquakes before, as far as the records show.
There have been reports of "earthquake lights", but that's a different phenomenon.
This is simply refraction of sunlight, it has absolutely zero connection to the earthquake.
But you are right that HAARP has no relation to the quake either.

Actually, HAARP doesn't utilize microwaves, and it doesn't shoot like a gun - it transmits like a radio. So the gun analogy is not a good analogy. As for testing it out, HAARP has been operational since the 90's. Before that, other ionospheric heaters performed similar ionospheric research projects in different countries around the world.

The cause of the light refraction is the suns alignment (44º) above the cloud of plate shaped ice crystals that make up the cirrus cloud you see here.
The cloud then looks colored, because the light is coming from the cloud.

It's a Circumhorizontal arc and is caused by light passing through wispy, high-altitude cirrus clouds. The sight occurs only when the sun is very high in the sky (quake was at 2 P.M.).
When light enters through a vertical side face of such an ice crystal and leaves from the bottom face, it refracts, or bends, in the same way that light passes through a prism. If a cirrus's crystals are aligned just right, the whole cloud lights up in a spectrum of colors.

My husband is school teacher in SAlisbury, MD and was speaking to a parent who works for the networking and research department of Wallop's Island NASA center in VA. My husband asked him about chemtrails because we were just curious since we have been doing research on it (we believe, as scientists do, to debunk conspiracies if possible). The fella said the projects at Wallops are aimed at projectile experiementation and weather manipulation. And I do do something about it - I tell people.

I just saw these colors in the clouds when I was driving back from the beach in OC (my home town) and it was right after a HUGE day-long CHEMTRAIL spraying occured! I was freaked out! This was on election day (Tuesday, Sept. 14th primaries - MD).
