  • BAD TO THE BONE !! !! !!

    :-0

  • If he is an "E.T." I'm glad he brought the guitar with him!

  • Tommy is so cool, I would INSIST that he bang my wife.

  • From where was that at 4:01 to 4:13, beacause I forgot the title.

  • *smashes guitar over head*

  • Tommy is so damn cool. Very inspiring.

  • one of the best songs ever!!!!!!!

  • class act

  • He makes love with that thing

  • Well I'm a fucking great guitarist (I thought!!!:-(.... but Tommy holy cow....speechless. Absolutely awesome towering performance he's a maniac he's so inside those grooves. Legend one my top five - Paco, Tommy, Django, Montgomery, Bream....

  • haha, epic he broke into classical gas!

  • I was trying to study while I watch Tommy Emmanuel videos...

    Studying Fail.

  • ....loves his musics....is as if the GOD of guitar entered his body and play......guitar at its GREATEST>>>>>

  • I play this instrument for more than 35 Years and thought I'm not that bad.

But now I sit here and can only shake my head.

He really must be an alien.

I'm sure he's the only one in the galaxy who can do things like these.

Many others with fast fingers don't give me absolute nothing.

But he makes really touching MUSIC.

    His temperament...!!! And kindness...

  • It almost seems to be easy.

  • oh tommy, you legend you!

  • Magic

  • checking emails while watching this....jaw dropped and spilt my coffee at 4:20

  • Wow! He is so talented and loves playing so much how can anyone help but like him and this video! You can only feel good when you watch this thanks!

  • He´s not only a guitar player. He shows the world what music really means and to do it like him is related to a lot of fucking hard work and nearly tangible feeling. This man is not from this world. Great Entertainer too.

  • This man makes me cry. What love!

  • That is a GUITAR PLAYER! 'Nuff said.

  • U should cha nge the title to Windy and warm\Classical gas. Awesome video ;)

  • What started as Windy and Warm turned into Classical Gas... this is madness.

  • good on five min

  • Absolutely bloody superhuman. Whatever he's on I want some of it...

  • andyy mckee is better

  • @Jump2893 well.... andy mckee isn't CERTIFIED GUITAR PLAYER (CGP). and if you're saying that andy mckee is better.... andy mckee is totally gonna kill you. TOMMY EMMANUEL is the BEST ACOUSTIC GUITAR PLAYER year 2010. YOU HAVEN"T BEEN TO HIS CONCERT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Jump2893 haha u really dunno wat tommy emmanual can do haha ha can do everything andy mckee can do

  • @Jump2893 Well, this isn't an Andy McKee video... so why exactly are you mentioning him? I love McKee, but seriously, MUSIC ISN'T A COMPETITION. They have totally different ways of playing guitar. Nobody cares who you think is better.

  • well lets just say he owned chet atkins face the rude way

  • göttlich

  • I am a good finger picker on the guitar...actually very good and I once served as the 'warm up' act for John Fahey.....so.........why do I suddenly feel completely incompetent when I see/hear Tommy Emmanuel in action? The answer is simple: he is simply great.

  • 8:11 Music like from Mozart!!! one piece...yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesss

  • Astonish is the only word that comes close to describing this performance. Aside from the technical brilliance of TE, the most marvelous element is his showmanship and the fact that he simply loves what he is doing. This is genius.

  • Who's the lady talking in the background? Shh!

  • who could dislike this...

  • no coincidence his initials spell ET backwards...

  • 7:55 vincent's theme?

  • why cant i play this way?

    snif : (

  • @philscosta UMMMMMMMMM!!!!!B'coz you're not god.......

  • @philscosta Because you don't practice enough, duh.

  • thx 4 all ;)

  • lick at :52-:57

    just awesome!!

  • if i was there at 4:18, i scream like crazy, and after the shows. would ask a autograph, and be happy only to talk to him.

  • please, can you tell me name of piece from 4:53 to 5:10 or to 5:10?

  • @footsaler not sure that's a specific piece, it's his interlude between windy and warm and classical gas.

  • @footsaler Classical Gas

  • best guitarist eer?

  • F^@K Me !

  • WOW..just wow

  • and flawlessly into classical gas thats TE for u

  • justin bieber

  • Ok, let's see...the speed and accuracy of Art Tatum, the swagger rhythm and style of Gregory Hines, the fun and goofiness of the Marx Brothers, the instrumental mastery of Mozart, the stage presence of Elvis, the perfection of Eva Cassidy, the entertainment level of Terry Fator and the attractiveness of being a regular guy, put that all together and you might get close to a Tommy Emmanuel.

  • One of the incredible things about watching TE is that he's such a performer that you know whatever he's playing is pretty easy for him to play! I mean that little trick he does with the guy taking a picture around 5:50 just shows us that he's just having fun. Not that he isn't trying! Of course I know he is! But I could never move around like that while playing, and I can't play nearly this fast!

What I'd give to sit around and here him practice the stuff that he finds difficult...

  • @findthemonthefloor I've watched a number of Tommy's instructional vids, and his most recurring tip is "PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!"

From a musician's point of view, what truly seperates the greats from the would-be's is practice. Talent will only take you so far--its the USE of that talent, grinding that axe until its a fine tuned machine--thats what makes Tommy the best!

These songs that he makes look easy--I'm sure many of them were hard for him at first until he broke them wide open!

  • @VegasBilgeRat That's not really true. Being a true musician is not so much about physical skills as being able to weave notes together and compose music. You can practice as much as you like but if you don't have the proper feel for music you'll never get there. Not saying talent is all but you'll definitely need a lot of affinity for music. But I do agree with you on the fact that it doesn't matter how much talent you'll have, you'll still need to practice.

  • @Robinguitarded If I might counter, I've played with many musicians who are phenomenal PLAYERS but couldn't compose a good song in their life. They could weave those notes, because they had talent, and practiced their butts off! Each of us are talented in different ways.

My main point was to reiterate Tommy's stance from his instructional seminars and videos, which is PRACTICE YOUR HEART OUT!

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP stupid tards we want to hear tommy not your banter

  • @spike4379 tommy wants to hear the audience;)

  • The definition of a musical orgasm starts at 4:14 and ends at 4:47

  • 11 people who disliked this have no sense of what guitar playing is

  • @MrAndrinator who cares? we can see that for ourselves

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

    unbelievable

  • maybe someone can help me.

At 4:52 Tommy starts a passage that i like very very much.

Someone have the tabs or notes for that?

    :-)

    thanks a lot

  • @abaer65 Hey, do you mean that passage or do you mean Classical Gas? :)

    ( Amazing video this !!!! Tommy is a legend :D )

  • @dudeforlive Hi, I mean that passage at 4:52 from that Tommy Emmanuel - Windy And Warm video...its a nice crescendo part....a masterpiece..like the whole tommy

  • @dudeforlive just click with left mousebutton on that 4:52 number and you hear that druggy passage...:-)

  • @abaer65

I don't think it's any song in particular - I think it's just an interlude he uses to get from one piece to the other.

  • when i hear him playing....i am happy...thank u for these nice moments...

    wonderful moments for me...

  • the part from 1:02 to 1:14 was so smooth...I've learnt 1st part of the song, but that super cool beginning part is not in my tab...and whatever i do i just cant sound like that, not that cool anyway....

  • @johnydeltablues There's a video out there where he explains how he changes the regular intro to that groovy bit that he does, but i don't know which one... I've seen so many videos of him i can't remember... sorry

  • Well will ya look at this ...since when Almighty God plays the guitar?

  • this guy is so expressive when he plays

  • wonderful music !!!!!!!!! well well done. its paganini at guitar

  • If there's a guitar competition in galaxy or whatever, the first man come to my mind would be Tommy Emmanuel, he should represent earth.

  • @seraphlgabri I would think the same, but for an awesomeness competition, two people would come to mind this time, Tommy Emmanuel and Chuck Norris

  • @seraphlgabri His super power is clearly unmatched guitar awesomeness...

  • @seraphlgabri ... or Christophe Godin !

  • @seraphlgabri

And the Borg would go :"Hey , why don't we assimilate this guy and finally become master race?"

  • @seraphlgabri No truer words have ever been spoken.

  • @seraphlgabri Earth would win..

  • @seraphlgabri Hahahaha before i read the comments after hear this that is exactly what i thought

  • @seraphlgabri I so agree. Acoustic or electric guitar, he's one of the best I've ever heard.

  • @seraphlgabri I agree but he should bring Chet Atkins to make it a complete set ! ! !

  • @seraphlgabri He can represent solar system as well i think.

  • 03:47 Check this: He can let his hands and soul do the job instead of his brain. The hands actually feels and thinks. He can think about bills and kid's homework and his hands will not bother him from doing that;) Here is where "routine" shows big time! Do u guys agree me?

  • GOOSEBUMPS

  • For 8 minutes I was speechless...

  • Wow...Amazing. Talk about feeling. I love it when I can love an artists interpretation of an already amazing song.

  • The Eddie Van Halen of the acoustic guitar.

  • i mean does it get better than this ,,, ???? wow man ,, just absolutely king of the acoustic,,,,uh ,,,ya ,,,hello ....peace to all ,,,,,

  • this man is truly amazing

  • Standard Tommy, just awesome, not many people can take a classic, play with it that much, and not totally screw it up. Tommy's off the charts. Personally I prefer Doc's versions, but it's just personal.

Tommy's both a fantastic entertainer and guitarist. Does he overplay a bit? In my mind yes, but that's his style, and if you can't accept that and still appreciate the genius, you need qtips.

  • If I wasn't looking I'd have sworn there were 5 guys playing... Amazing :-O

  • Why the fuck to I bother trying to play?

  • Different every time I hear it!!! Damn this guy is amazing!!!!

  • This is definitely the next Tommy song I am going to learn.

  • @clickclocks Good luck! haha I couldn't imagine playing this!

  • @MTipton12 I got the hang of the intro in about 10 minutes. Just need to learn the rest now.

  • Can't hold Doc Watson's jock strap.

  • fk man, when he started with the main theme that funk gave me chills

  • I love tommy but He honestly looks like a koala.

  • @rabbitcanfly thats a bonus!

  • Stop Talking, Maggots! It's TOMMY playing right in front of you!^^

  • Tommy can take any song and make it better. He is the master.

  • I posted a "do not like",because I like the original version.I am not taking anything away from Tommy,he is a great guitarist but a bit of a show off.I guess if I could play like that,I would show off too.I guess I'm just jealous, right?

    calmat78

  • he us saying who made that mistake?

  • this is beyond music genius..... look how the bass notes is controlled and how the high harmony is placed!!!! its easy to say but ITS HARD!!!! he knows a little to much and chuck norris got nothin on tommy because tommy is the best....

  • 2:49 Can anyone catch what is being said? It sounds like she is talking about the epic face.

  • 5.33.... what teqnique is that?? would love to learn that, sounds awsum :)

  • @zyeduvaleleusis Oh - THAT old thing?? Piece of cake. Just block the strings at the top edge of the soundhole with the fingers of the left hand while strumming forward with the thumbpick on the right. Slap the upper treble bout with the fingers of the left hand (on the way back to playing position), followed by two right-hand slaps over the soundhole to make the internal mic "pop". Big thumbpick & fingers clinch to start back into the melody. Couldn't be easier - 'cept it's hard as hell :)

  • @OhBeeg1BanjoV

Hahaha :) you make it sound so simple..... Well after your very detailed explanation, im thinkin i might leave that tecnique for now, thanks for the reply anyhoo amigo :)

  • Hey Frauline! Get us a couple of beers over hear too! Loving the show!!!

    Tommmy rocks!

  • the very definition virtuoso. Amazing.

  • tommy is a cool guy i think. and he is amazing at guitar.

  • It's obvious Tommy loves the guitar.

Sometimes I wonder if he thinks " I want more out a guitar than it is capable of"

I would imagine that if a guitar had a tongue, after that performance and through sheer exhaustion it would be hanging out.

  • 5:00 ... "Down in front!" lol!

  • Because of him i got me a guitar.

  • His thumb moves like it has a mind of it's own! :)

He must have at least TWO brains.

    Rock on Tommy!

  • I honestly cant believe that

  • Tommy... amazing man. thanks.

  • Amazing :) best guitarist , best entertainer (Y)

  • Not to devalue anything else that's going on here, which is an absolute marvel--but check out 7:20..

  • Unbelievable technique - just can't believe it's a six-string acoustic guitar...!

  • Why does he always play in Germany?

  • Poseur

  • Back in the day, recording TAPE was the medium on which all tracks were laid down. A "splice" was a physical cut which linked one "good" section to another "good" and dropped out a "bad" one.

  • @Poppa150 uh...people do that all the time now too. I suppose you can play everything perfect in one take? chet atkins was amazing

  • Chet F-ing Atkins!? His recording is full of splices. Try Doc Watson's, Tommy.

  • @Poppa150 What's a splice?

  • @Poppa150

    Oh really!

Chet atkins recording was full of slices? Are you sure? I have seen and heard chet atkins many times, including playing live, and he has never, repeat never hit a shit note.

This tune was written for chet, and so all other versions are imitations of an original.

  • UN MOSTRO ...

  • I love Tommy's playing, he's great, but this just isn't smooth enough to me. That's what I miss about Chet, his absolute smoothness. When he played this, it made you feel Windy and Warm. This isn't a knock on Tommy at all, just fond remembrance of Chet.

  • he started playing classical gas near the end just jeez...my hands would be hella tired even by 2minutes of playing windy and warm

  • You, sir, are a God.

  • People chatting during the show? How rude.

  • gosh i want him back in Australia it seems i might have to drag him here myself!
