Is the Holy Spirit needed for every believer?

Personally once I was baptized and felt like something was missing. I too was raised baptist and I grew up not believing in speaking tongues. I let God teach me and didn't concern myself with what my family or others would say. Thank Gid He filled me! Praying that the writer is also filled.
