Walter Dix is a freak. Everytime I see him I feel like he should be somewhere playing fullback. He may not be the fastest in the world be he is definitely one of the most determined runners I've ever seen. If he's in the race it's going to be interesting. And if he's in striking distance near the end you might be in trouble. If Powell had as much heart as Dix he would be damn near unstoppable.

I'm also glad that Dix's race at Gateshead was ran into a headwind, because you see he ran this 19.72 with a +1.8 tailwind (close to his pb of 19.69) and you riders are jumping up and saying Bolt is hiding from him and he's better than Gay. See Dix ran 20.26 into a -0.9 headwind barely holding of Spearmon, while in his 1st race of the season, (he should be rusty), Bolt ran 19.56 into a -0.8 headwind,see, so this is the guy Bolt supposedly hid from when he switched from the 200.right!

I would know, I'm recovering from one and it hurts a lot more to run a bend at 40-50%(of max speed) than it does to run a strait full out.. Yes Asafa ran 19.97 with 0.0 wind,at national trails, he just ambled around the curve like he was training, he wasn't under pressure and only opened up on the straight and eased down 5 m from the line, amazing. He later said that he was careful on the curve because the last time he ran 200 he injured his toe and that he was a bit tired.He has a pb of 19.90 set 06 .Asafa is just lazy, if he makes up his mind, trains for it, he can be a force. +1.8 wind here and some guys not breaking 20s.

Carter ran 19.61 yrs ago, riders hoped on, was injured, now no one talks about him.Though i know and said Bolt is way ahead of them, i said this season would be interesting for Usa and next ,qualifying for wc and Olympics in 200m. Well, he says he's past the injury that's been hampering him since the Olympics. He claims that at times he pushes his body too hard and that leads to very minor injuries. @cloningprocess yes tyson did run 9.69 with an injury, hamstring or groin, I believe, can't just remember. BUT that was with a 4.0m/s tailwind, which equates to a 9.89 with no wind. Plus, that injury didn't seem to affect his speed at all, he just ran in pain - he ran 9.71 with this ongoing injury in Berlin.

Here in Eugene however, Tyson is just under-trained and lacks speed and speed endurance, (after recovering from injury) which showed. Completely different story.

Guys quit makin excuses for Tyson. Walter Dix ran a good time and is a damn good sprinter. He's always had amazing top-end speed. The only thing he's needed to work on is his start. Seems that he's got that down now and look what happened. Simply put Tyson lost. Whenever he loses there is always some excuse. But when he runs a super fast time, people are ready to crown him as the best sprinter of alll time. Tyson is still the better sprinter, but Dix had the better race on this day.
