Thank you! I've been on many other casting on sites and they were all confusing. Your method is simple, straighforward and now I can begin to knit! thanks
Thanks, this was very helpful! I can do the long tail cast-on method, but I needed to cast on in the middle of knitting, so this was a great help.
Suggestions for the videos: I don't know if it's because the camera is close to your face, but the sound is a bit distorted. Also, if you have a bit of a script, it might help you make the dialogue more concise. Thanks!
So many people have said this, maybe it's' redundant. But thank you!! I too have been trying to knit from a book and couldn't for the life of me figure out how to cast on. I came to a different video on YouTube first and it did NOT help. You make it so simple! Thank you!
This was such an awesome video. I was actually trying to learn how to knit from a book and it was SO frustrating, Watching this has made everything a breeze. Thanks so much!
OMG, out of all the knitting vids on youtube, you make the only ones I can understand. You actually talk the viewer through it, in a way no else else seems to. You so rock! Thank you!
YOU ROCK, I went through so many vids trying to learn how to knit and this was by FAR the easiest! So clear, thanks! If you make a new video, one explaining basics like...if I want to make a scarf..how many 'cast ons' will make a scarf how wide? I made one and put 'cast ons' allllll the way across my needle and ended up making something too small for a blanket and too big for a scarf :)
Oh that for this video! I took a class and could not remember for the life of me how to cast on the way she showed me. But this is even easier! Thanks so much!!
This is the first knitting video I have ever been able to follow. I like that you take it slow and repeat yourself so I don't have to keep rewinding! Thank you!
Lovely. Your tips will now see me progress forward and are appreciated. My husband has now put in an order for me to make a scarf for one of our chickens as its winter here and this particular type of chicken has no feathers on its neck. Its called a Punk Rocker and they are bred like this. Its one reason I took up knitting as neck warmers for chickens are rare as hens teeth. Keep them coming, your bloods worth bottling :))
thank you so much for sharing your video. after what seemed like watching so many videos, i think i finally have the hang of it. altho, i was told i was doing some forwards and some backwards, i've learnt the most from your video. thank you very much for your help. :):)
This is how I used to cast on but the problem is that when you knit the first row after this way a long string appears and gets longer and longer and it is a little bit of a hassle. Then it is OK if you get through the first row.
dARN IT. I was learning another way and the lady kept saying I was making a mess and than I found your video..awesome this is a much easier and better way to do it you Rock thanks so much will be back for more lessons
Thank you so much. When anybody tries to teach casting to me I never get it. Now I can do it and it is easy. The you so much. I do not know how to thank you
Thank you sooooo much!!! I've been looking through so many videos that made no sense and went too fast. You're video is perfect for beginners(like me)
oh my god!!! you are my new best friend!! i have been trying to figure this out for days... I get so close and then I just can't get it... this makes the whole world make sense. you so totally rock!!!
I was so horrible at casting on but since I saw this method, it was so easy. Thank you for taking the time to make this video, it helped me tremendously.
i did the same. i figured if i can't even get past the first stage i will never be able to do this. and then i found this apsolutly fantastic video! i have hope now that maybe i can learn to knit. thank you.
Thank you so much! I sat frustrated, for four hours, trying to replicate instructions from a take-home book. Then I found this video and it made complete sense. I began casting immediately Thanks again!
OMG, thank you soo much! This is the best video for knitting!! All the other videos were going way to quick for me to catch on lol. Whoopee! I learned something new today!
Thank you! I am so terrible at crafts, but I wanted to learn this. I got a book about knitting but I couldn't understand the cast on section at all. I finally realized I needed to see someone actually do it because pictures just confuse me. This was so easy!
I took a $30 class today to learn to knit; we learned casting on and by the time I got home, I forgot! I couldn't recreate that other more complicated way. YOUR WAY IS THE BEST. SUPERB for beginners! I have watched your video 5 times and I can re-do it correctly and it comes out so neat! THANKS FOR THE GREAT INSTRUCTIONS; VERY EASY TO UNDERSTAND!
THANK YOU! I'm sooo new to knitting and no matter how many videos I watched, I couldn't understand how to cast on. This way is excellent...at least for a beginner like me!
i tried a bunch of other vids too. They were all like "put it in your thumb and pointer finger and go in here out here back around bla bla bla." This was sooooo much easier!

Thank you so much. I have been trying to teach myself how to knit but I couldn't figure out hhow to cast off because everyone always made it look so complicated. Thanks again. :)
This video worked so well for me. But I was wondering after I have all my stitches then do I just use the pattern needed with the amount that I have? What do I do after I have my stitches
Yes, once you have enough loops on your needles you have enough stitches to start your pattern. If you don't have a pattern you could just start knitting a row. This just gets your stitches on your needle so you can start working with them.
so i looked at sooo many other videos on the web and this one was the only one that i could understand! and it was such an easy way too! Thank you so much!!!!!!!! woot woot
