  • Thats so cool!I love watching people play Ocarinas.Great Job!

  • which mountain ocarina is he using

  • I have one of their ocarinas. They'e generally easy to play. Both the sweet potato style and the in-line ocarinas are easy once you get the hang of it. Beautiful music <3

  • awesome o.O!

  • What were the two songs at the end? They sound so familiar but I can't put my finger on it.

  • wow...i think i definatly heard some Irish rebel music towards the end...

    well done ^^

  • oh my gosh that is so cool I just got one yesterday but mine has 4 holes and I do not know how to use it

  • impressssive! your are good at this lol

  • where can i get a ocarina like that?

  • It's a Mountain Ocarina. Google it.

  • That model is the Aluminum One.

  • Mountain Ocarinas

  • mountain ocarinas

  • wow

  • i wanna learn that =]

  • what type of orcarina is that again

  • This ocarina is from mountainocarinas it is an inline. :P

  • AWESOME!

  • I want that kind of ocarina. It looks little bit easier than my brown Zelda ocarina

  • some say its easyer to play compared to transverse

  • Depends on your opinion of ergonomics. Inline is generally easier on the hands than a transverse. But transverse ocs are still pretty cool though :D

  • Yes, it is. But not by much, they're all pretty easy to play.

  • where did you get you ocarina?

  • Hey ana1sexyes

I'm Verstand, another ocarina player. The man here makes ocarinas, and this is one that he made. To purchase this ocarina or other ocarinas from this maker, visit mountainsocarina . com. Need anymore help? Just PM me.

    Thanks,

    Verstand

  • tight

  • awesome

  • I wish that I could play the ocarina like this guy too. XD

  • dido

  • That's awesome!

  • did i hear a little irish rebel music in there....

  • yeah i did too.

  • Is it named a ocarina xD?

I has got one of these in some years now without knowing what it is xD:..

  • yea ocarina

  • lol

  • Great room. Makes the oc' sound so big. Thanks for the post.

  • Well, they are pretty loud for ocarinas, no matter where you play. :)

  • Comment removed

  • I really liked the "Leaving Of Liverpool" bit :)

  • awesome!

  • i lve docjazz

  • beautiful

    =)

    loved it

and i wanna learn playin' it

  • haha if you WANT to play like this guy, wich kinda means you play worse than him, you'd better stop

  • hm although hes a pretty good player, i dont really like the sound of ocarinas in gerneral

  • wow i always thought they were just from zelda and were a big craze so became a real instrument...turns out theyve been around before zelda lol

  • Not only that, they've been around for centuries, it's no new intrument.

  • ....my thoughts too =.=

  • probably 5000 years old.

  • J: ocarinas have been around for at least a couple of thousand years. First ones were found in China digs, they were shaped like eggs. Charlie Hind sells a great short, but very complete pictorial history of the ocarina. They're a great companion instrument. Battery free entertainment.

  • So I heard. The cheaper plastic ones are also in the video above, and personally, I can't hear that much difference in sound compared to the metal one. (Though I still think the metal one sounds a bit more clear.)

I just have a question: can you order their ocarina's by means of a mail order?

  • i just got a mountain ocarina this week and they are actually pretty cool.

its really easy to progress on them.

i recommend getting one if your interested in playing the ocarina their cheapest ones are 25 dollars and are very good quality for the price.

  • oh!!! is lovely!!! the instrument and the melodies are wonderfull.

  • oh dang cool song

  • ha woodland criters

    that sounds really good

  • after that first song they had to cut because all of the woodlen creatures came running in. lol just kidding but seriously that guy is a master of the ocarina.

  • lol tht made me crack up

  • Awesome first song. I love ocarina's too.

  • i wish i could play ocarina...

  • does anybody know how much they cost????

  • It depends on how much you want to spend and mainly on how good you are or want to get. Beginner ocarinas are not really expensive (up to 20 Dollars), if you want to play more different things it goes up to 80 bucks. But there are also very expensive ones for over 400, depending on the material and the possibilities to play (range).

P.S.: I don't play myself. All I just told you is from docjazz4 and his videos where he gives advices and links. If you are really interested you should watch these.

  • LOL :D thats liek uber irish sounding WTF did i just see a lucky charms box lol jkjk

  • This insturment gives me a headache, but still the guy is talented. :]

  • Mountain ocarina isn't the only one with a linear scale fingering, most full-sized (non-pendant) ocarinas have that too. Get a twelve-hole ocarina, they have more range and can play sharps and flats. I don't know if mountain ocarinas has them, but stlocarinas does.

  • Music is the magic of the world, and This guy plays like a god.

  • No, Willy, Hao Lun Hsu, and Shiefeng609 play like gods! even mightyicecream and kissing are really good!

  • I want to know how long he practiced that first song, lol. Well done sir...well done.

  • Is that... gold?

  • "fool...FOOLS...you fool!"

stop fooling around and watch this fool play his ocarina, let the hard cheese chill post casper bro

  • The Ocarina whas made in italy dumbass isalias

  • my dad makes ocarinas in Romania. If you're interested in purchasing one, send me a message.

  • docjazz4 is just as good

  • i'm getting a 12 hole soon

  • Lots of luck with that. :D

  • wow

  • Who cares where they were made? Ocarinas PWN :)

  • good

    but ive seen better

typ: TRIPLE OCARINA the first one that you wil see is the best!!!!

  • Im getting a sweet potato soon.

  • i love sweet potatos they're delicious :D jk i know what they are

  • Didja get it yet?

  • cool

  • Lol I wonder what his wife thought about all the racket he must have been making when he first started XD

Good job to him! I'd love to be able to play ANY instrument that well heh.

  • i still choosing the handmade one

  • thats sick.... :p i would go crosseyed if i should play such one hehe.

nice controle of your fingers :p

  • Does anyone know the name of the first song he played?

  • i love it. it sounds great your good.

  • easy

  • looks so easy

  • it not

  • Wonderful playing! I came close to buying a Mountain Ocarina, but went with a Hind in the end. I hope you're still playing and recording!

  • it;s really hoppy and fun

  • xD I know the 2nd song! its 'The leaving of öLiverpool'!

  • i dont know alot about ocarinas but y do u have a hole on the bottom left that u dont use??

  • i think that it is for some of the lower notes

  • that hole's used for low B or C#

  • im not totally sure, but i remember seeing a video saying that the unused holes in an ocarina are for air to escape the chamber.

  • i know well i would not say allot but i know stuff about ocarinas and it for air to wisle thou to help with the sound.

  • for this song u dont need the bottom left hole

  • you use it for the highest note that your ocarina can play

  • its funny that its used in celtic music

and it was invented in italy

  • is that perticular kind of ocarina invented in italy?

the original ocarinas come from the east

  • It was invented in the USA :)

  • no they were not invented in the usa there invented in china do some research before you say something

  • I hope you know that the ocarina is Italian... right? in Italian, it means "little goose". docjazz isn't the only one who should do a little more research, but good try though. I almost thought you were smarter. I was undoubtedly wrong.

  • seriously?!?! because actually Ocarina is Italian for "little goose" because it was invented in ITALY!!! do some research.

  • The Ocarina was found in Africa over 10000 years ago.

  • dude the ocarina was invented in africa south america china europe and by native americans you would know the nativ american ocarina as a egale bone flute and was perfected in england giving it a sweet potato shape for better sound and giving the ocarina the ability to play more notes and have more holes thus calling it a english sweet potato ocarina also known as the sweet potato ocarina

  • why are people giving this thumbs down? it was found in Africa 10000, and dated to be 10000 years old, you cant (or shouldnt) thumbs down facts.

  • lol yea some african guy tripped over it in the sahara.

  • The Ocarina was invented some 12000 years ago in China. In the 19th century (yes that is only roughly 200 years ago) a man named Guiseppe Donati took the Ocarina and developed it into a more of a concert instrument.Yes the name is derived from Italian meaning "Little Goose", but thats the name and only the name, Do your research, Fool. The Ocarina was invented in China thousands of years ago, Guiseppe created 10 and 12 hole versions of the Ocarina. You make yourself look like a fool.

  • man made in china, awesome!!!!! i know how to play the Chinese flute and the fingering is just like that, it goes up

  • You fool; EVERYTHING was invented in China.

  • racist

  • that's not racist

  • yup

  • actualy it is invented in china but the idea of the insterment spred to other places liek south america then one day a guy in england perfected it giving the ocarina the ability to have more holes better sound and a sweet potato shape thus calling it a english sweet potato

  • yeah youre right he makes himself look like a HUGE fool i mean he didnt even know that ya i mena ocarina history is like 1st grade come on what an idiot!

  • I learned somthing today! ^.^

  • hee hee wow you learned your history

  • Well the basic ocarina concept was invented independently in both china, south africa and the americas long before the three had any contact (and before there was any USA) but the mountain ocarina in the vid was invented in the USA.

  • The mountain ocarina was invented in the United States, not ocarinas in general, just the mountain ocarina.

  • These particular ones were made in the USA! and thats why Docjazz4 said USA! GAH!

  • you are idiot like my parents, they are hungarian, and they think Hungary is the middle of the world...

  • Frosted Llama...I doubt you had an ocarina club. Plus you're just jealous that this guy kicks more ass than you or that docjazz4 dude. This is the best guy I've seen so far and he's quite good.

  • Sweet...I have little knowledge in the area of ocarinas and whatnot, but the tunes he's playing sound to my untrained ears like they're Celtic or Welsh tunes...

Even if they're not, it's so awesome!!!

  • omg this...ROCKS!!! :D

  • I'm not to fond of inline ocarinas more so inversed (sweet potato)

  • Its easier than it looks, I used to do ocarina club at school :) Its good, but alittle boring when you've mastered it.

  • what school do you go to?

  • at least you got an ocarina club.

  • His music makes me want to dance a jig.

    I like!!!

  • i can make those out of clay...they're so much fun.

  • i want one :(

  • very nice :D

    5 stars

  • thats pretty sweet

  • Omg. i want one!

  • lol, looks fun^^

  • hes good but check out the triple ocarina...

  • Thus far I have only played an austrian Ocarina, but I am going to buy a mountain ocarina soon.

I actually, cannot play in truth. If I can whistle a tune though, I can almost magically play it. It just seems to come naturally to me, but I can't read music either.

  • i rlly wish i cared i doubt anyone else care about ur magical ability as well
