Just don't watch them - if anything I get bored with seeing the same old dashboard if they haven't updated in a while so these could bring at least a little bit of randomness to it.

They wouldn't have released a second console if they had lost money. The 360 is the second most sold console, how can they lose money? They're just greedy pigs.
They lost money on the original xbox and lost around $1 billion on RROD with the 3 year warranty. I believe they are now making profit on each 360 sold and live sales now but not 100% sure on that
