As to someone's comment about tuning, this is played in

fairly standard tuning ... just the 6th string tuned down to D.

The point? So it comes across more clear on a youtube quality video, I think that's a silly comment, I bet this would sound better as it is than without that mic there. Traditionally yes, most classic music doesn't involve technology of amplifying sorts, big deal, this is music, to each their own!
