@funker530 Canadian Force have done a good job in Afghanistan. The Canadian Military is much smaller than the United State's and cannot afford to send all of their troops to one war. I might be wrong, but i read the Canadian Military is only 100,000 strong, so sending 3,000 of those is allot in my opinion.

When the US goes to war they calculate maximum tolerable casualties, when canada goes to war the casualty tolerance is zero because our forces do not have the quantity of soldiers available to other countries. I remember reading somewhere that standard infantry is trained up to the level of US army rangers, if this is true (hopefully it is) it also explains why the tolerance is zero since so much time goes into training each soldier
