Well, now I want new Dune game: "Houses of Dune." I have idea for new RTS Dune with features like: classical conquest campaign, choosing between certain technologies and favor of factions (Bene Gesserit, CHOAM, Guild, etc.) for some bonuses, even "historical" mini campaign loosely (very loosely) based upon Paul's time with the Fremen and his succession of Emperor Shadam. Even limited creation of your own House and title... that be awesome.
Frank Herbert was a man of real-world experience, not just some dreamer. The military activities in the Dune universe weren't about people running up to buildings and attacking them. Even today it's more sophisticated and Dune is the distant future. It was all political intrique and plotting and off-record attacks.
Not attacking the game. It's just a game. Just saying this incase anyone is interested.
Also, the book describes the Harkonnen's homeworld (Giedi Prime) as industrial and grim.
Oh it has smugglers and Bene Tlielax and things haha. Okay. Cool. It's basically an excuse to throw Dune-Universe "factions" in to the game mechanics. It's cute haha. Bene Tleilax aren't even mentioned in the Dune series until after the Attreides conquer the planet, but the Sardaukar are in there kinda.
Doesn't matter tho. The game looks cool. It's probably a good concept. It has lots of Dune tributes rather than official Dune events.
I don't have long so I skipped through this. I noticed there's a green team. Is it Ordos? Dune doesn't have Ordos and the Dune 2 game invented them. But that's okay.

The Attreides (the goodies) were given control of the planet fromt he Harkonnens but it were backstabbed and wiped out, except for Paul and his mother who hide among the natives. Won't say more.
When the Harkonnens usurped power on Dune, there was definitely outright combat between Atreides troops and Harkonnens. It is hinted several times that Atreides formations lasted a relatively long time after the Duke's death.
@VoidKeeper If I can recall there was going to be a Dune MMORTS years ago. But the company that was making it went under. Nowadays I'm not even sure who even owns the rights but I suspect it's EA.
Well I'm sorry, but nowadays EA sucks b***s! They killed Westwood and C&C 4 is weak in comparison with Red Alert 1 or even C&C 3. Good thing the latest part of Need for Speed is made by Criterion which is the creator of Burnout series. In other words EA is good only good at making FIFA series (which I don't like) and sucks at everything else. Well, for the most part.

It looks too different from the type of gameplay that Command and Conquer is used to and looks like a imitation of Dawn of War II. Also I've seen how the story is played out in C&C 4 and all I can say is 'For shame EA'
