I believe in eternal security for the most part with a few minor exceptions .
rev 22:19 messing with gods bible such as the people who wrote the NIV and false bibles have eternal damned them selves . matthew 12:31 blasphemy against the Holy Ghost , and rev 3 14 the Laodiceans who were worshiping Jesus plus false Idols and jesus told them change your tune or I vomit you out , another example would be christians converting to islam and denying jesus is the son ,
@metroman2160 the bible makes it clear that no thing of this earth or under this earth can snatch a believer from the hand of God however God leaves the choice to us to whether we stay or walk away. for the Lord is always the perfect gentleman.
If you are saved, and are a "back slider," All you have to do is repent and seek His face!!! Do not writhe in torment from Satan accusing you AGAIN!!!! The old covenant, the law, is over. The Mesiah is come and we can trust in Him!!
Hebrews 10:26-31 is aimed specifically at Jewish Christian who were tempted to return to the Temple system of blood sacrifices, making Jesus' sacrifice 'of none effect'.
He 10:26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearfull expectation of judgement, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.NKJV
"And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work."
There is no way around it, if we are not saved by our faith, then we are saved by our works and we no that in us does nothing good exist therefore our works our meaningless. Some will say it is if we produce fruit, but so often they declare works as fruit. Fruit is patience, brotherly kindness, faith, hope love and peace, amongst other of that nature, non of these come about by human effort and without assurance of salvation you cannot produce any of those. Only fear! Or self rightousness!
Unfortuanately reverer needs to look a little closer at what original language says and means. Reverer has equated "hold fast(firmly) to the word" to obedience. In the Greek the word hold fast is:.. Katecho, "to have or hold fast," is rendered in 1 Corinthians 15:2 (the King James Version) "keep in memory,"
It has to do with keeping it fixed in our minds, not with obedience(works). What we are holding on to is the Word (John 1:1) Christ Jesus Himself. Not our obedience. Ps 51:14-17
please put on the sermon where j talks about the bright morning star. thank you i heard it once on thru the bible but havent found it since it was a bright mornin star!
I love you as my brother in Christ. You are sincere, but I must humbly say that you are sincerely wrong. Jesus said, ".. he who disowns Me before men will be disowned before the angels of God." Luke 12:9
Peter said,"...be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and FALL FROM YOUR SECURE POSITION." II Peter 3:17
Paul said, By this gospel you are saved, IF YOU HOLD FIRMLY to the word I preached to you. OTHERWISE, YOU HAVE BELIEVED IN VAIN. I Corinthians 15:2
NKJV translates it as: "fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked"In verse15 Peter clearly says (in context)that it(salvation)is due to Christ's longsuffering(patience and steadfastness)not ours. Warning us about our steadfastness. The result of our lack of steadfastness, we would stop growing in His grace, not losing it all together.(verse 18) be careful to use every word in context accurately (2tim 2:15)
The Believer in the Lord Jesus Christ is crucified with Christ (Gal 2:20). Finished! Justified by his life (Rom 10:9-10) Made a son (John 1:12) Sealed with the spirit of God (Eph 1:13-14). Gods word is clear and God is faithful (Tit 1:2).Thank God that He has forever saved you if you have truely received the Lord Jesus Christ. God places the believer in Christ and Christ into the believing heart (Col 1:27; IICor 5:17) Believers are safe forever because of Christ!
Its late in response but, please, you only need to repent after you have once received the salvation thru Jesus Christ. This what He is trying to tell you through His word.Don't let Satan continue to intimidate you,Christ keeps His promise to you.Christ does not seek to destroy us,love Him,TRUST Him!THIS IS TO REVERER.
If I can loose my salvtion, then Christ suffered and died on that cross in vain. His blood was not good enough to save me once and for all. I cannot accept this. Christ was the perfect sacrifice. If my salvation depended on my works, then we could have continued with the animal sacrifices and not have needed the Creator, the King of Kings to come to this earth as a human and suffer the humiliation, shame, pain, suffering and death that he did.
By this gospel you are saved, IF you hold firmly to the word ..... Otherwise, YOU HAVE BELIEVED IN VAIN. I Corinthians 15:2
...He has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— IF YOU CONTINUE IN YOUR FAITH, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel. Collosians 1:22-23
".. he who disowns Me before men WILL BE DISOWNED before the angels of GoD"Jesus
In vain refers to the idea that the reserection is up for grabs or a myth, or even worse a pipedream. These verses reference our mind and our faith, the only critereon for salvation(ep 2:8-10) is faith, belief if you will (Gen 15:6) it was only Abram's belief that counted towards his rightiousness. We are sons,joint-heirs,adopted as mature children (Rom 8)
He will not abandon us or discard us. An Abba Father

Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

I love his comment, "the question is whether you are a believer or our you a make-believer." That sums it all up to me, that is the crux of it all.
