I am Canadian. We have social health care. It works great. If I do not like the dotor I simply find a different doctor who I like. No one is EVER turned away if you need the care. Ambulances are not covered here but that is its own system. We offer any medical service at no charge to people. (except glasses, dentists, plastic surgery, and volentary surgeries) Yes we pay higher taxes but its worth knowing that I wont die over some thing silly and stupid. Think about it and vote for reform.
We have a similar system. I pay more taxes for it too but I consider the value of universal health care to be vastly greater than the value of what ever consumer goods I could buy for a cheaper system where people are not covered.

Man Healthcare in US is great if youre rich and able to afford exorbitantly priced insurance schemes. NHS in UK is free for everyone, barely any waiting lists, I got an entire neurological exam when I got injured, as in MRI of my brain and spine immediately and stayed 2 weeks in hospital for FREE. In US that would have cost thousands which I could not afford

My query wasn't on the good charitable healthcare would do, but rather on how such a system could be brought about? It is just not possible for a government to make companies be charitable; that would have to stem entirely from the good of the people in control of the organisation, and I can't see any way of bringing this about.

I am Canadian. We have social health care. It works great. If I do not like the dotor I simply find a different doctor who I like. No one is EVER turned away if you need the care. Ambulances are not covered here but that is its own system. We offer any medical service at no charge to people. (except glasses, dentists, plastic surgery, and volentary surgeries) Yes we pay higher taxes but its worth knowing that I wont die over some thing silly and stupid. Think about it and vote for reform.

NHS in UK is free for everyone, barely any waiting lists, I got an entire neurological exam when I got injured, as in MRI of my brain and spine immediately and stayed 2 weeks in hospital for FREE. In US that would have cost thousands which I could not afford

With the public option you have a doctor assigned to you, whether you like him or not, whether you think he's competent or not. My query wasn't on the good charitable healthcare would do, but rather on how such a system could be brought about? It is just not possible for a government to make companies be charitable; that would have to stem entirely from the good of the people in control of the organisation, and I can't see any way of bringing this about.
I agree that it should be governed by the people, and an excellent way to create this would be through a public option governed by a government chosen by the people.

I respect what your saying. Free market does not always act in the best interest of the greater good. Example is public education. Do we allow free market to dictate who gets educated? No, it a necessary step to have an educated workforce, populace. Does it pay off immediately? No. In terms of generations, does it pay off? Yes.

I don't accept the premise that without the public school system, there would exist children without access to it. Competition raises quality and lowers price. Would some schools be better than others? Sure. And some people drive a nicer car than me too, but am I suffering? not at all.
