Quite a superb, yet underrated, type of boss battle. The Darkness had one just like this, although in that case the only way to beat him was to put your weapons away; there wasn't another way to beat him.

No. Waste all your ammo first. If you have no ammo, then the boss with fall in 1 minute on NORMAL, 30 seconds on EASY, and 2 minutes on HARD.

That's great, I thought I tried this and it didn't work. Is Maria finished off automatically after a certain amount of time, or are you doomed if you don't have any weapons (I suppose you could just use a meelee weapon if you were only out of ammo, but what if you left all the meelee weapons in the Employee Elevator room)?
