everytime when i feel depressed or sad i watch this scene and it reminds me that much worse things have happened to other people. THe scene is brilliant.
There were so many deaths on Lost, and most of the time we just saw a few sniffles and sad faces, so I'm glad to see someone actually reacting to a death of a person they care about. This must of been hard to do.

This scene with Sun screaming as she saw the freighter blown up with Jin on board, was realistic and hauntingly memorable. It is the scene that stands out for me over and above all the episodes of Lost.

He survived, but Sun only saw the explosion from afar and thought he had died, hence her screaming in horror. (He was revealed to be alive in an early Season 5 episode, Sun eventually found out and came back to the island to find him.)

i specifically searched "Jin blows up lost" because I wanted to find I place where I could tell someone this. When Sun screams it pisses me off so bad. I want to fucking strangle her and throw her out of the chopper. She literally pisses me off enough to search the internet for a video of her screaming just so I could post my blind rage. I liked Jin :(. Well whatever, that's what makes this show so good, it's the things you DON'T like happening. If this show went the particular way I wanted it to be, then I wouldn't really enjoy it as much.

Jin is not dead. He would have jumped off and swam to the island - which was in view of the freighter anyway. Or he would have been picked up by that bearded scientist who was in the raft.
