for example if the average life expectancy of people who smoke is 5 years less than everyone else. you can say smoking is unhealthy

There are studies showing circumcision slightly reduces STDs, but there are others contradicting them. There is inconsistency.
The USA has a higher incidence of STDs (including HIV) than Europe, although there's no reason to believe that the USA uses condoms any less.

the same is true for STD's. it is not correct to look at a countries STD rate and say that is reflective of circumcision... for example many african countries have extraordinary rates of AIDS but this has to do with a lack of education and preventive materials rather than circumcision

I think it comes from Father and mothers not wanting their kids to be different, especially in such a culturally sensitive area. In a body part so concerned with aesthetics, why wouldn't one expect the parents to be concerned? Kids already stress over if they're somehow different or not, worry about being made fun of for it being too small...I think by a large parents just want to allow the kid to avoid having another reason to worry.

Sometimes the majority of people are circumcised then people who are not cut feel different. Other times it is the opposite and cut people feel different. Either way the correct choice would be to leave it to the child to decide if they want to cut themselves. This is because if you are cut you cannot undo the permanent change. However if you are not cut and you want to fit in, you can always get yourself cut at an older age.
