Howard Dean is listening the the American people. We need to communicate our message to Congress. I live in Los Angeles; who is planning the protests around here?
Wow have things changed. I don't even recognize Obama now, in comparison to the Obama from the 2008 campaign. Of course, that was all a show, since he really never wanted the public option to begin with. Like much of the Senate and House of Reps, the White House has been bought by the health insurance lobby.
tell the truth Dean, this plan is to make all young hard workers buy health insurance and if they don't it will be taken out of thier paychecks or bank account, the democrats admit to this, so if you don't want to be forced to pay for insurance you better call your representative now,
If everyone of the 400,000 people signed MY petition we could put the conservative movement out of power.
Single payer advocates, if you want to pulverize the power of conservatives and get single payer enacted please read my blog at blog daht democratz daht org
If these Blue Rats block the public option and Obama signs a bill w/o public option, then the Dems have lost my vote (no, I'm not going GOP, either). The only person I'd consider voting for again is Dean if he ran for prez again. No health reform, no vote for you, Obama!
CALL your Senators and Representatives, people. I've done my part - take a minute to do yours. If all 18000+ people who've seen this video had done just that, we'd have had 18,000+ more reasons for them to act in the public's interest.
I signed the petition, so should everyone who wants to see the Public Option in the bill that passes!! Don't forget to send this video to all you family and friends!!
Hear DOCTOR Dean, you're not standing. You're bending over and taking from the insurance industry too. Otherwise, you'd be advocating HR676, single-payer healthcare. Or, at LEAST, keeping it in the discussion. Stop this b.s. People are dying. Stop this now.
You folks who yak and yak about single payer but do nothing to support the public option are the Naderites of the health care fight. Nobody is going to put the insurance companies out of business with one fell swoop; the country isn't anywhere near going there. Meanwhile, a robust public option is nearly as good for most practical purposes. Cut the crap.
To those who imagine only the pitfalls of systems they have heard about, I ask you to remember that the expenses we in the USA spend have not put us on the most effective system. Remember that we have the best innovations our Government has paid for most of the drug research that the drug companies say must be folded into the initial costs of their research. They are usually lieing. The fact that the information about how your taxes have usually paid for medication is only the beginning.
The only way to ensure medical care for everyone is by instituting a single payer universal health care system with no opt out and no private pay option. Otherwise you will create a two tiered system where only the rich get health care.
I know a lot of people believe that the Muslim world is not ready for democracy and that, similarly, the United States is not ready for a Single-Payer plan like the one Australia has because it is too much of an improvement over what we have now.
Well, we're ready! We are not afraid of a system that costs less and means less paper work and gives all of the money to the doctors and hospitals rather than to greedy insurance executives.
I can't decide whether I think it's awesome that he's clearly speaking extemperaneously, or whether despite my liking his ability to speak without notes, I think the video would still work better if he'd written a polished speech.
If i may offer an international perspective , i find it incredible up to 50% of what the US pays for healthcare, is for private profit and has nothing to do with healthcare at all. Imagine the increase in economic productivity if people and businesses weren't made bankrupt by someone getting sick or injured, let alone how much more produtive a healthy, less stressed population would be. Imagine quality healthcare for every one for much less than you are paying now.

I have a question for all republican senators and congressmen, if government provided healthcare is so terrible, why don't YOU give it up?
Our taxes are paying for there medical bills but not our own. Enough!
Please pick your least favorite republicans and ask them that question.

Baloney, that's just a stupid thing to say, and all evidence is to the contrary.

There's no reason to go step by step. Give us the best system right from the start.
